That's not how WiFi works, moving the server to 5 GHz will not affect
the signal strength to your Touches in any way.
Your Touches clearly had sufficient connection
I can't argue with the test results, but I guess bumping up to 5G
allowed less traffic and better signal strength for all my Touches in
the house (all are connected at 80% or higher since the change). All I
know its sounding better and that was the only change made to the
system.

I still have a SliMP3, still working !
I never did and never would run slimserver/LMS on anything other than

You on a cable provider? If so, this is pretty typical for cable
customers as they are on a shared pipe for the 'hood that is notoriously
under provisioned. Everyone comes home and watches Netflix and hoses
the network.
Same sort of thing will happen in biz districts during the day.

I'm having a strange problem with Pandora.
We have two stations that we listen to frequently. Recently they won't
play in the evenings/nighttime. They play fine during the daytime but in
the evening they continuously restart. I've restarted the LMS server,
power cycled the players and had no

It's not a bad deal,
Short answer: Nah, at least not a Squeezebox brand based on the
architecture we know and (mostly) love.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Squeezebox ecosystem is genuinely
amazing. There seems to be no limit to the adaptability and
extensibility, constantly made to run on new platforms with new
Actually I suspect you'll find a lot of people on the forum are quite
happy with the status quo. The Pi/DAC/open source LMS solution is very
compelling. Any reignite of Logitech official Interest could well see
them grabbing that back in-house. At the very least it would likely be
based around

I think Logitech got a little ahead of itself buying slim devices while
the technology was still in the early-adapter phase, but since Logitech
canned the brand, I've seen Sonos everywhere, as well as a number of
competitors that have displays at Target, Best Buy, and even Walmart
over the years.
I'll try again when I get home and let you know, but when I tried at the
weekend it was using the 'Search' item in the main menu (after clicking
'More...' in the bottom menu) and then also in the 'Extras' part of the
main menu under the Web Browser option. Neither returned anything but
local
I could be completely missing something here, either something obvious
or with the way the search works.
Global Search is not available from the web UI. How did you search on
iPeng? Did you try on the device itself?
