Dang ... still not solved.
I took the SB3 apart as per the instructions and inspected the boards.
None of the piggy-back boards have come loose, all connectors are good,
all capacitors look fine, no visible problems anywhere. So it's not some

Cool, that means there's hope! Thanks also to BPA for the valuable
repair link. I'll see if I can set that SB3 up as a wired point, or buy

Thank you so much for the fast responses!
I've swapped out the power brick with another identical one (I have
several of these SB3's) - still reboots. So it's not a bad power supply,
at least not the external brick. If the SB3 has a faulty internal
component, then I'm afraid that's the end of it.
Situation:
I have Squeezebox Classic with firmware v137 which I believe is the
newest version. It's on my local WLAN with good signal strength. I used
it as a speakerless nightstand clock for a long time, but now I moved it
to my media center PC so I can play my music collection through it
again.
I'm posting here because there doesn't seem to be any subforum for the
SB classic devices. Anyway:
I just powered up two of my beloved SB3 devices that have been packed

's are all set to 10-second crossfade (in&out) with per-track
gain from software and no SB3 gain processing. This works exceptionally
well to create a continuous sound experience, much like a radio station

Got an agreement with the vendor - that was a lot quicker than expected

You can also have a web radio in your favorites (in the slimserver),
and if you play that, then all players that are on the slimserver and
set as syncronized will also play that.
Hope this helps.

I have used it on my 15.000 mp3's with great success. Only downside is
that it only works with mp3, not WMA.
