The main thing for me is as stated by the first poster: size of music

My digital music collection is just slightly under 50,000 files right

My understanding is that Sonos only goes up to 45,000 music files.
Naturally I see this as a critical problem.

I'm not sure why all this was necessary.

I have noticed that when I view the info in SC 7.3.3, the name of the
show is correct.
Additionally the name of the show is correct on my Duet controller but
not my 2 Booms.
I didn't make these observations until after your post.
Any further thoughts?

I did a complete reinstall of Vista plus updates (which was agonizingly
slow because of Vista)
I then reinstalled SC 7.3.2 and the file count matched exactly.
Thanks.

Also I noticed a stray shortcut to a music folder in one of the music
folders.
Could SC have counted one of the folders twice?

Surely there must be a step-by-step somewhere for this procedure?

Any ideas on how to handle this issue?
I have made no changes to my Squeezebox setup recently. Other internet

Although I do not use playlists, the same thing has happened to me.
The players would not restart until unplugged and plugged them both
back in.

I'm sorry you have to go through this mess. It seems like there should

I just ordered the Duet yesterday.
I already have one Duet. This one is quite a bit cheaper.
I don't have speakers or an amp for it, but I will start the process of
getting one soon.
