Hi everyone - I have been using TheSynchronizer plugin ever since it
first appeared & really had zero issues .. BUT having done a really rare
re-set of my preferences etc etc, I now cannot find it in the plugin
list. Is it still available?? Can anyone point me in the right
direction, please .
Given that this ppears to be a recurring issue, I thought I would just
note how I solved it (for the moment, of course - nothing is absolutely
for ever with networking or any software, actually!)
The issue started after I had an update for Win10, after a considerable
period during which I had
Will be trying all that, so many thanks for the list!

Has anyone seen this happening??
I have two Touchs synchronized with Squeezelite-X and sometimes
Squeezeplay (using USB output to a Modi DAC, thence to an amp etc) ..
the Touch's have always worked perfectly on wi-fi through my Orbi + one
satellite, so long as I ensure that both Touchs are
Would love to know why this is happening .. seems to have cropped up
relatively recently but is pretty consistent.
The track that LMS "appears" to be playing is always one ahead of what
is actually playing.
I have attached 3 screenshots, showing the LMS main screen, the "actual"
track being

After the most recent wave of attacks & hacks, this piece of advice has
been widely published:
http://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-tip-stop-using-the-horribly-insecure-smbv1-protocol/
Does LMS or do any of the devices need this protocol??
Can I just turn it off on W& &/or W10 systems??
Go here too - really solid advice.

If yoiu can find one, the newer UE radio is also supported by LMS too.
Next time I need an LMS 'box' of any kind, I am going to build one - its
all plug, install & play so even I can do that.
Worth reseraching some of these options, not least because they are
really, really cost-effective
I have never had an Android phone music player that doesnt actually play
FLAC files, even where they state that they are unsupported. Wouldn't
bother with converting to MP3 for Android therefore - if playing your
iPod through some type of connecotr to the car radio, you also don't
need to convert
Personally, I would convert your iPod to Rockbox & continue to use FLAC
files - its dead easy & you preserve the quality to an amazing extent.
The difference is clearly 'seen' when you use earphones on the iPod.
Else I would use either DBPowerAmp or foobar200 - use both for different
stuff &
.. they have all done a wonderful job - have had my musical experience
completely transformed by these guys gals.
Thank you for writing this Thank You note too .. a pleasure to join it!

.. to keep the whole thing alice well. Streaming radio is not yet an
issue in South Africa - but in principle, I would love to see someone
with a bit more foresight the interests of the system at heart keep it
all up running. Well worth a small annual fee to help in that regard

I have been using it for a few weeks now - would highly recommend it -
rather better than Logitechs own .

I find two real obstacles in using LMS: searching and streaming.
1) Searching in LMS is primitive. Maybe this is not so much a problem
for listeners to other music types, but it is a problem for me since I
listen mostly to classical music. What is needed is a search

I have posted this elsewhere but, in case anyone is listening, the thing
missing from my squeezebox experience is the ability to read booklet /

Hi,
I had this issue since Winamp is one of the players I use from time to
time, I searched on the Winamp site for a plugin - they have something
that allows you to create a playlist, as normal, and then export that as
a saved m3u file to any external player. The plugin creates a file
item -

It is really easy to do using DBPowerAmp's Convertor facility - can
convert to MP3 of any kind, FLAC of any level of compression etc etc
etc. I would recommend that as a relatively easy and speedy way of
getting the sound!!!
Oncwe you have the backup situation sorted, go for the Touch - the best
quality sound out of SB ever - to date

The most annoying thing - and this not unique to Sqeezebox in any way -
is that iTunes beats it hands-down in the creation and use of playlists.
The Squeezebox implementation is based on the assumption, I assume, that
Squeezebox users don't really need such a simple interface - they can
cope with
directly to the iPod as to any disk, and (b) all the
Itunes procilivity to mess with your music files or tags are avoided.

I use Beyond Compare - you have to buy it, eventually, but it is the
simnplest, most direct way of keeping mutliple ecopies of files sorted
out. They don't manage their trial software very well, so I have
never actually bought it but I think I should!!

innovation is Rockbox - transformed the various iPods in the
household - which, together with Squeezebox means that iTunes is
relegated to where it should be (the recycle bin) and straight folders
and files drive everything - MP3, Flac etc etc etc etc!!!
