Is this on Windows? Is your antivirus software playing with the .my*
files? The error is basically saying it tried to update the database,
but the file was locked ... if antivirus software is scanning it, it
may be locking it.

The 360 does something odd with UPnP, sending out a weird URL that
confuses Slimserver. It has been fixed (I think in 6.3.1). Perhaps
something else on your network is doing something similar.

Well there is a slight relationship: after all the tracks are added to
the database, album art is collected.
So if it dies during the track-scan, it won't get to the scan for
artwork and will only pick up what it gets while playing (which doesn't
show up in Browse Artwork).

WPA is an infinite amount better than WEP.
It is possible to break into a WEP network in a matter of minutes. The
only known attack on WPA/WPA2 networks is a dictionary attack: choosing
a good password gets around that.
