One question: HOw do I get the server or slim to obey settings I have
in MusicMixer, such as don't include songs which aren't enabled in
mixes.
THe mixes I'm getting include tracks from my library I
In the SS web ui, go to Settings, MusicMagic. The top option is
something like Choose to give each player access to the musicmagic mix
settings before generating a mix.
Set this to Yes.
Remove any player chosen settings in the boxes below (as they override
the server settings and remain,
I had it working with the processes both set to automatic :) now I'm
working on the same problem under Linux :-P

I have this working ...
Setup the MM Service as per the post above.
Deleted the SlimServer Tray Icon from my startup folder.
Set both SlimServer MM Services to 'Manual' in the Services Panel.
Added to my start batch file the commands:
net start Predixis MusicMagic Server
..

I've been running MMM as a service using AppToService in Windows XP and
it works really well, except that I've run into a problem after adding
new music to my library. Slimserver (6.2) doesn't seem to pick up the
newly analysed songs (though they are definitely there in the MMM GUI),
and reverts
like a charm...

Hey all: SO what is the state o' the art for getting MMM and slim to
launch on boot (XP). I'm running SlimServer v.6.1.1 and the latest MMM
1.1.6b. Since this thread is serveral months old I thought I'd see if
there was an elegant solution

That last post did not get much of a reply, so I'll just post the
instructions here in plain text for all to use howerver they wish.
Disclaimer: I have no interest in either of the companies that require
license keys!
If anyone want the instructions in another format, like pdf or rtf,
email me

Charles,
Tou might consider posting this to the wiki
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/. It would likely be more accessible
there, and could be community edited.

digging around seems to suggest that the two required components can be
used under XP too. Can anyone confirm this first hand?

Seeing as this has come up again, the best solution I have found is to
run both as a service (I'm using the MS srvany.exe method for MM,
Google is your friend). but then using regedit, add a new Multi-string
value under the Slimserver service Key. Name this DependOnService,
How do you do that? What format? (I have it in RTF and PDF).
Thanks.
