If you guys have another compatible PSU around, try that first. Although
it's more than likely the PSU is not the culprit in this case, there
have been other faltering Squeezebox devices that were remedied by a new
PSU. Some Touch's for example have had remote control issues and certain
owners

You don't *have to* and for sure some are still good, but I never tried
to figure out exactly which

I have two SB3s. I've just noticed that the left channel on one of them
has become very quiet (almost, but not quite, silent - perhaps 40dB
down?). This affects both the analogue (phono) outputs and the
headphone jack - I've not tried the s/pdif output yet, but I'm guessing

Try a xilink reset (reprograms the fpga that runs the audio software)
Then a factory reset .
If this does not work it might be broken :-/

Thanks for the advice - it certainly sounds like a good place to start
my only problem is not knowing how to perfarm a Xylinx reset on an

Thanks for the pointer. I did manage to find that myself, after I
posted it helps if I spell Xilinx correctly!
Unfortunately, none of that improved matters.
