The first thing that 6.2 will do is trigger a full rescan of your collection. Whilst this is taking place, the performance will likely be terrible. However, if you let it get on with it and give it time to complete (probably a lot of time with that many tracks!), things should soon become nice

Good question. Incidentally, I have been experiencing much fewer interruptions using JLayer for the MP3 decoder instead of Java MP3 Plugin in Softsqueeze. Not sure what the difference is, but the predictable pause-at-track-beginning behavior is no longer occurring since I made that switch.

You can actually do two things with the ADD button - a single push adds the new track to the end of the current playlist whilst a push-and-hold action cues it up to play immediately after the currently playing track. Of course if you have no playlist running then both actions are the same.
