I can't determine any specific pattern - now even AAC files are causing
crashing. Moving/renaming/retagging files does not seem to fix the
issue. I can't exclude that the crash is happening at the last stage of
the scanning

Then, a few weeks ago, the connection to the IMAC got completely lost.
No way to recover it, ever again...see my previous post. tens and tens
of restarts, re-install, erasing preferences. Everything works fine in

I recently patched Slimserver with a nightly release (6.5.2 - 11727) to
cure the dreaded Pandora firmware loop.
Since then I've tidied up a few tags with
slimserver uses the timestamp on the file to determine what is new and
changed. mp3tag has an option that either updates the file timestamp,
or doesn't. I'm pretty sure the default is *not* to update the
