Speaking of shortcuts, slimserver's library points to the music on my
ReadyNAS, designated as drive T:. I placed a shortcut in the root of T
to point to a local drive (F:) on my PC. However, slimserver does not
seem to recognize it since none of the music files on F: end up in my
library.
I had a terrible shock when I plugged my SB in. It sounded terrible.
Only by accident did I discover that this was because I'd plugged it
into the amp input designed for vinyl. I plugged it into 'video'
instead and it's great.

(I realize it may not be an AV receiver but it probably uses a DSP all

Try:
- selecting DIRECT, SOURCE DIRECT, BYPASS, etc. modes that do not
process the signal. On my
SlimServer doesn't have a 'sleep' setting, although there is a plugin
that puts the player displays to sleep. I use this since one of my
SB3s is in the master bedroom and the display tends to be a bit
'bright' at night.
Other than that, like I've said above, my MINI is on all the time.

minstrel, amcluesent makes a good point. -If- (and only if) your Onkyo
has a direct analogue path, try using the analogue output if the SB3
into the analogue input of your receiver.
Have you set the security on the slimserver?
Server SettingsSecurityBlock Incoming Connections and check the
options there.
Can you try using Softsqueeze on a PC on the same network as the SB3
and see what happens? Softsqueeze has plenty of diagnostics you can
enable.

I would like to locate a specific internet radio stations, among the
100s (or is it thousands) listed on Shoutcast. Is there any way to do
this without browsing through all of them?
I know I can browse by genre, but its always clear what genre a radio
station considers itself.

Have tried putting in the ip follwed by:9000 which i got from the
machine as 192.168.0.4:9000 but it comes up with a blank page saying

Have checked my firewall settings and it is already on the list of
exceptions. If i enter the ip follwed by :9000 on the other 2 machines
already running it sucessfully it comes up no problem but still no luck
with the new one.

It sure seems that Sean Adams cares. This seems to be a minor bug if it
exists at all. I'm sure that most companies wouldn't even look at it.
Also, verify the mac address reported by the unit corresponds to the one
on the sticker. There was a bug where it got modified somehow and had to
be manually restored.
