This is not a terribly helpful suggestion, but you could try moving to WPA? I have had zero issues with an SB3 and an SBB using both WPA and WPA2 pre-shared keys. WEP is prone to cracking anyway, so WPA is a more secure solution, so long as all your gear supports it. Anyway, switching to WPA

I don't know if this is unsual, or just a result of some adjusted pricing, post Boom release, but Amazon has some interesting prices on SBCs and SBRs. Basically, the SBR will run you $292ish. And the Duet will run you $318ish.
