Thanks for the replies. I have made a little progress. When I tried to
connect wired last night, I was actually using our powerline network,
which has been fine for networking PCs. As I say above, the SB3 still
didn't work in that scenario. But this morning I carried the SB3 back
to the router

I've been using the Squeezebox Duet with Music IP flawlessly for several
months now until today I found that pressing the select button of the
Duet controller for a couple of seconds on a library track no longer
creates as Music IP mix.
If I go into the track options and select Create Music IP
OK. Now I am confused again. I took the SB3 round to a mate's house. He
has an SB3 on a wireless network with mac filtering and 128bit WEP but
DHCP rather than static IPs. My SB3 worked fine on his network
wirelessly, once we had allowed its MAC address and given it the right
WEP key.

(NAS over wireless might struggle on performance)
Just change the settings in Slimserver to the location of the new music
folder and do a rescan.

My 'chronic slacker problem' was the reason I wanted a Squeezebox in the
first place. I just didn't have the self-motivation to put all those CD
cases away after I'd finished with them...

You will need new plugins. The whole plugin system was re-written for
7.0, this was one of the major changes. It's now much much harder for

WPA? I have had zero issues with an SB3 and an SBB using both WPA and
WPA2 pre-shared keys. WEP is prone to cracking anyway, so WPA is a more
secure solution, so long as all your gear supports it.
Anyway, switching to WPA
If you can reset your router back to factory defaults and then set it up
again, this may help. Some setting like MAC filtering may have gotten
accidentally turned on and may be getting in the way.
Agree WPA is the way to go unless you really need to run a low-security

agree, my SB count just grew from 1, and I find that walking around the
house with players synchronized is absolutely spectacular. Just having 2
physical plus a SoftSqueeze is amazing.

ACC.
This may well be different once the New Streaming code has been full
integrated and polished up for 7.3.

I don't know if this is unsual, or just a result of some adjusted
pricing, post Boom release, but Amazon has some interesting prices on
SBCs and SBRs. Basically, the SBR will run you $292ish. And the Duet
will run you $318ish.

legs.
It's probably best to ignore it unless there is a real reason to use
it. In 7.3 it'll be replaced with SqueezePlay... which hopefully will
be a lot better.
