In sound settings try to enable "Streaming via Proxy", if you have not
done that already.
Yes, that is what the Transporter does for DTS files which I have
converted to FLAC. And yes volume has to be set to 100% so nobody tries
to alter the gain. IIRC There was an option to do fixed output at 100%
just not sure where it is anymore, but since the DTS files play music
not white noise

Thanks for the reply. I have my Transporter connected to an Anthem AVM
60 over Toslink. I do have some DTS 7 track recordings (all my music is
stored as FLAC files, but two different directories (DTS vs Stereo) I
have been thinking as to whether it would be better to feed the Anthem

Transport outputs PCM on Toslink and trasnportr may convert file type to
PCM or PCM if source was WAV.

Hello.my squeezebox has suddently stopped working, its always been a
bit temperamental but lately not so much.
Last week I updated my windows monthly rollover and a few new updates
(windows 7) and when I turned on the squeezebox it didn't connect.
I tried the usual rebooted PC,

And is the "squeezebox" normally connected to the network by Ethernet or
Wireless?

Did you install LMS by yourself or use 3rd-party package like
piCorePlayer (pCP)?

the sequence I use is as follows
1. Set up networking
2. Connect by Ethernet Network
3. Obtain IP Automatically xxx.xxx.1.64 (or setup static address) (in
the past this has been xxx.xxx.1.65)
4. Select music source xxx.xxx.1.68 (currently last digits are 68 which
worked last night, but not
It's definately worth trying another source connected to your
transporter if you can.
I had loads of problems with my Panasonic TV (8 year old model mind)
connected to my DAC - it would just drop out every now and then for
about a second or so - the DAC might just be a bit more graceful in
just connected to squeezebox . com and it gives me a range of options,
one is to connect to Logitech Media Server (which used "66" at the end
and didn't work. I have never used this option until now.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Oops, I dont know what pCP is
My LMS is running on a Raspberry Pi on my local network

@ NE5
So, just to be clear.
You have a "squeezebox". which model is it?
You have a Windows 7 computer (Home or Pro, 32 or 64 bit)
Do you have Logitechmediaserver (which version) installed on the
computer or do you always use mysqueezebox.com?

Perhaps implies that the playlist is being stored in memory and being
written to "disk" (much) later.
Are you using pCP to host your LMS?

Hi there,
I run LMS on a Raspberry Pi with two groups of players. Group1: 4 synced
players (1 SB receiver and 3 SB boom), Group2: 1 player (1 SB boom).
When I occasionally either reboot the server or restart the
squeezebox-server service, the active playlists on the players gets
reset to some

It should be possible to resolve your problem without you having to
start from scratch.
Knowing it is a self-install helps to remove some lines of enquiry.

Do you use Dont Stop The Music / Lastmix?
If yes - just add another / remove any track on your own to the playlist
before you stop lms.
Adding tracks from dstm didnt didnt trigger "change the cached / stored
playlist".

Oh, I installed LMS myself. I hadn't looked into pCP. I will have a look
now.
Cheers.

it is also running in windows xp sp2 mode (not windows 7), I don't know
why. My brother set it up for me like this as it previously belonged to
him.

Well, you have a real can of worms there.:p
First off, you mention that the device has been playing up recently.
There are two main causes for this, if you search the forum. This is one
sample thread
LMS has a web gui

I've used a Transporter connected to an external DAC. D/A conversion

If that's not the case, then the Transporter is very badly designed and
I would have thought there would

"Can't connect to server"

no change to network. lms runs on ubuntu.

I unticked the run as windows xp sp2 option, so presumably it is now
just running in windows 7, and I'm getting a message saying I don't have
privileges to start of stop LMS backround services, so I need to log on
and run as administrator ?? Don't get this ? Sorry.
Does the Toslink output on the Transporter and other squeeze devices
pass the D/A conversion and just provide the digital file that is being
read from the server?
