truly impressed. It's got me listening to music again after years of
having my CDs stashed in the basement away from the kids.
I've been enjoying the use of the shuffle modes and random play plugin

had assumed the installer always creates the service,
And the start automatically tick box is just controlling the startup
type of the service?

Right Then - I had to go round the houses but I've now got my Dolby
Digital 5.1 copy of With Teeth by the Nine Inch Nails playing in
surround sound on the squeezebox2.
Here's how:- I used this tool to extract the 6 seperate wav files

Sounds like we need filters that can be (optionally) applied anywhere

excellent and accurate suggestion.
I'd like to add this step to my ripping scripts. I could probably

then trigger a rescan. This thread:

Hi,
I have edited the convert.conf file (slimserver 6.2b latest build as
today, win xp) and added the following to the bottom of the file:
ac3 pcm * *
-
dts pcm * *
-
as far as I can understand this should allow me to send raw ac3 and dts
audio files straight to the sb2 so my amp can play
I just have SlimServer set to automatically rescan every night. This
way, newrips show up the next day and I don't have to do anything. Of
course, if you seek instant gratification this wouldn't work.

That's correct. By default only the 300 most popular streams are
downloaded from shoutcast.com. This can be configured in Server
Settings/Internet Radio (max. 2000).

If you are using the Random Mix plugin included in V6.2 then the
commands are slightly different i.e.

I only see one DHCP Offer broadcast from the router, then multiple DHCP
requests from the Slimp3. Also, to correct myself, at this point I
lose connectivity outside the router, but the internal network is still
functional.
I guess I'll try a static IP next to see what happens.

and enter a time. I think you can also do this from the webpage by
navigating to Server Settings/Plugins. I use 5.4.1 but I assume this
functionality still exists in 6.1.x.

getting it working with his Belkin router. The only way it would work
was with encryption off, which is not acceptable. So he purchased a

am having a quirky and incredibly annoying problem that goes something

Well, the SB2 actually needs close to 1.5A, IIRC, but there is an Elpac
that will do the 2A. However, I'm not sure how good it's going to be,
with the small form factor. It needs to fit a transformer, fuse,
