I have no idea how this happened, but a little background.
I had SlimServer installed on my laptop for my SB3, with all my music
on a 120 GB IDE-USB drive, externally connected (obviously) through my
USB port. Unfortunately, this took away from the portability of my

I have Devolo Turbo and I find they work fine for networking for a
wireless deadspt I have. I have the following observations:
1. Powerline network has analogous problems to Wireless: some pairs of
sockets will have poor throughput, other equipment on network can

Yes, I use them all over the house. We live in a old Victorian cottage
and wireless won't pass through the walls. I have 3 SB3's and a
dedicated music server in a cupboard under the stairs. I use the
powerline plugs for all the connections and they are fantastic.
The 85mbps ones typically give me
universalremote.com I have 3 and the are great. Choose the one that fits
your needs.

On the Harmony differences, I used to use a 659 and now have the 880.
The main advantages that I see are:
* It looks better - a lot better. The graphic/color screen helps but
the case design is also much nicer.
* The built in rechargable battery and cradle prevents the gradually

I've had this a lot now and it's getting annoying :(
At least twice a day the SB3 cannot connect to my Slimserver hosted on
my Intel iMac .. if I stop/start the server it connects fine again.
I'm running latest slimserver software.
Any ideas?

After finally getting SoftSqueeze and Squeezeslave to run as a service
on my xp sp2 box connected to a different server, I now also have this
problem. Unfortunately I fell sucker to the mp3pro format a few years
back and have a lot of music encoded as such. I'm not using it for new
stuff but I
I've been limping along on an old Apple Graphite Basestation. No G of
course, and limited encryption options. It really pumps out around the
house, but with two kids on WiFi, me and the Squeezebox the Squeezebox
has been dropping the music more often than I liked.
Only one kid has a G Wifi card
Some obvious ideas but I hope they help. Is your iMac falling asleep, is
your Energy Saver pref. set to sleep HD when possible? Are you still
logged on to the Squeezebox network.
I'm a newbie, but I'm a Mac newbie. So I hope this helps until a real
pro comes along.
