Hi,
I am using SS6.3 on a Mac. Since the upgrade, clear library and rescan
everything doesn't work anymore. I was looking for the database file to
remove it manually, but couldn't find it (I know that I was able to find
it intuitively in the last versions of SlimServer -- was the location

That's because it's not in what I regard as the obvious place. That is,
not in a subfolder of the main SlimServer folder. It is inside a
SlimServer subfolder of your Caches folder (which is in your Library
folder).

How can you be sure it's slimserver at fault, and not a configuration
issue your end as already pointed out?
I run slimserver on a linkstation, which is only 266Mhz and 64MB ram,
yet it works fine.

As you've discovered, telnet does not accept inital command line strings
to run upon login (although some accept an argument to run a remote
script file). The CLI docs indicate that for Unixy platforms, you can
use STDIN. This is not supported under Windows.

Getting a pre-N /MIMO router should help you though; Even standard
802.11g network cards get a better signal rate when connecting to it.

Yes I have, but it's still humungously slow...probabably because I have
existing playlists that reference large amounts of my existing music
library.
I don't understand why scanning a new playlist means that SlimServer is
required to scan all the music that any existing playlist references.

As far as I can tell, I can't adjust the delay. I can create a macro to
repetitively send a Play command, but the smallest time interval is 0.1

but when i have no IE windows open, and i click the icon, it opens an
IE window for me.
if one is open, it steals it.
but there are ways to design links to open in new windows. is that not
possible from the desktop?

Just be careful, using the lowest volume setting to begin with.
Ideally, for best fidelity, you want the SB volume setting to end up in
the 35-40 range. If you need to attenuate the RCA output, you can use
the Slimserver Pre Amp Volume Control (at least temporarily). If you

SS isn't doing anything, as Michael says, it's IE deciding whether or
not to reuse the window. If you don't like it, complain to MS or use a

Just installed 6.3.1 on Server 2003.
Now music seems to cut out more that before with the previous version
install (6.2.3 - I think).
I notice the dead air espically when I have locked the concole.
While I am logged on slim.exe has the highest CPUs.
The exe is running as the Local SYSTEM

Well I don't know whyt it crashes the server (any more info like a log
file or error message?) but the service seems to be doing it's best to
avoid being used. I've dug through the various levels of redirection
and ended up with something which works for some clients (wmp, winamp)
but gets a bad
