I have problems with my slimserver starting up.
I have the settings on 'auto start on system startup' but it has
problems starting and I have to click it manually.
My slim server also turns itself off when my pc is off. I thought it
should display the time whilst there is no pc on or music

Not sure I can help you on the first point - I assume you are on some
flavour of Windows? On the second point it is important to understand
that the Squeezebox is basically a dumb terminal with little of its own
brain - it doesn't even know what time it is so has to ask a computer

Maybe you are having the same problem I had, try changing the settings
by right clicking on slim tray and setting to startup on logon

I had all sorts of problems with this, basically it trying to start,

I logged a call and we tried loads of things, firewall, virus, running

Luckily (?) I had to do an OS

Give that it's only 15 feet you could also try running a cable and see
if that fixes it - then you'd at least know it was the network.

Did anyone find a fix?

Two thoughts:
1. Use the pre-release of SqueezeCenter 7 and you should get a nice
GUI that will let you browse the folders to find your music.
2. Can you detail the process to install WHS? Haven't seen it in
person yet.

Would these users be satisfied with 160kpbs?
I understand the economy of it, but with that bitrate, there is no
reason as of yet NOT to purchase CD's or vinyl.

I replaced my SliMP3 with a Squeezebox 2 and do not see the problem

Hi All,
I've just bought a Mac mini with Leopard and am trying to get
Slimserver working. No matter what I try I can't get the SB2 to connect

There's something odd happening, because the mini does show up in the
list of available servers to connect to on the SB2, it's only when
Are you running wired or wireless on the SB2? Any router with firewall?
Did you check the SHARING settings on the Mac and open the ports for
the SB2? They are 9000-9090 and 3483.
Any more info you can give us as to what you're doing?

No hardware firewall involved.
