I'm running the app on an HTC Hero (which has a CM6 rom) and its almost unusable. I can connect to my SB3 but the interface is so slow to be unusable. [slim] 10 android tablet $280 at woot (3/23 only)
If you're looking for a decent sized Android tablet to control your SBS (or whatever reason) this one's a decent deal. It's a ViewSonic gTablet 10.1 Multi-touch. It's at woot.com, but only today as they just do one-day deals. There are a couple of custom ROMs available (I've been looking at the Cyanogen one). No idea if it'll get the upcoming Android tablet ROM (screen might not have enough pixels). Lots of good info (and useless blather) in the forum at woot. I've been starting in on Android coding, and this is as cheap as the second hand phones I was looking at, so I snapped one up (well 'snapped' being a relative thing, woot sometimes takes 5 days to ship). I'll also use it to control by SB server. It occurred to me that some other folks here might also be interested in using one for that purpose, so I thought I'd comment. Admins: please feel free to delete this in a bit as it's not useful info as of, well, 3/24... Oh - I don't feel so bad for having missed the weekend deal on Duets now... Running Version: 7.5.3 - r31792 on Windoze XP Pro, and the app runs like a sack of sh*t - really slow and clunky. Squeeze Commander on my LGP-500 does the job - 'nuff said ! I have also setup my dyndns and am happily using DS Audio on my ipad to access my music on the server remotely. It works wonderfully. I already have 3 squeezebox boom in my house various corners, I am thinking of buying a few more for my daughters who are staying in different locations. My question is: How do I make the squeezebox boom access my synology squeezebox server through internet like my ipad? Can this be done? Appreciate all the help and advice I can get. Re: [slim] Android Controller App
Rather impressed by the performance browsing into a 600 cd collection on a basic qnap ts-109 nas. Fare quicker than browsing sbs through the web interface who is just unusable from such a nas. Yes, some might think of this app as the fastest web UI we've ever done :-). Would also appreciate to wippe out the time bare that overlays the cover picture It's hidden if you touch the cover art. and have a way to configure the menu buttons keeping only the necessary one. I don't understand this request. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

How do you play albums and tracks from Rhapsody using this app? Re: [slim] Control your SqueezeBox or Transporter with Foobar2000
stuffedspacedog;619551 Wrote: Hi, I just spent some time looking into this... the Columns UI uses a completely different Windows CLASSID so my script can't find it, it also uses a different title when it's idle (just foobar2000 instead of foobar2000 v1.1.5... I've made you a special version, tested it, and it works fine on my machine. You need to open FB2K, go to preferences display columns ui. At the bottom you should see a window with //This is the default script for the title of the main window during playback. You need to change the text UNDERNEATH this comment to: %path%/%playback_time_remaining_seconds%/%ispaused%/%playback_time_seconds%/ Then run the new FooSQ version in this zip file: http://www.at-sea.com/work/FooSQ_ColumnsUI.zip Please note that this version is an edit of the one I currently use so doesn't have the bells and whistles of using an .ini file, ability to select different players, allowance for running SBS on another machine etc. You need to make sure SBS is running and FB2K is loaded before running the FooSQ exe file. Let me know how you get on. Alan G'day Alan, just checked back to this thread and wow, didn't expect you to have done that for me, thank you x 100! Just got it running now, works fine. No problems at all so far. Will update if I run into anything.
