How often do you change the Shuffle or Repeat mode in reality?
What circumstances make you change these settings?

I'd connect the SB3 via WiFi, check all network settings on the SB3

Did that, tried static instead of DHCP, but doesn't help. The IP

Is anyone using a Squeezebox to feed midi files to a modern player
piano? Is so, do you convert the midi type 1 files to waves, MP3s or
stream in native midi? Any input would be appreciated.

erm... you can't convert (in the conventional sense) a midi file to a

If by the directory in which all the files are saved you mean the
parent (top-level) directory for your files, no don't do that. That's
because that applies to all the files in your library. Some of those

I guess I was cavalier in describing the add-on interfaces to the skins
that are included with SBS.
I actually prefer the Nokia skin to the Touch skin as it simplifies the

A word of caution.. if you are looking to synch internet radio over
multiple players you will almost certainly get some drift over time,
especially if the players are not identical. This is because there is
no break (like when you move from one track to another if playing local
music). SC
Hm. There IS a mute functionality in the server (setting the volume to
negative numbers) and I believe you can use it on the controller by
holding a volume button or something like that.
iPeng also supports it (and can mute a whole sync group at once, too),
but I do actually find the feature to

Another vote for having Shuffle and Repeat on the player control screen.
There is plenty of screen real estate to add these two buttons without
a cluttered appearance.
Going to the Settings menu works, but it's not as convenient.

At one time it was possible to mute via the Controller by holding both
the VolDown and VolUp buttons simultaneously, but as I recall there
were (sometimes?) problems taking it out of mute. Maybe it was
exhibiting the same problem you describe with iPeng, ie, losing the
negative mute value and
