I think you've covered most of the points. You could do a search on the
slimdevices and sonos forums for a comparison I did about 5 years ago;
there have obviously been some changes, but the basics

As far as I've understood (Some of this might be incorrect because I
really don't know Sonos):

With the instability of Logitech at the moment and the resulting
uncertainty of the Squeezebox future, I've been wondering this myself.
Take a look at my equipment list in my sig and you'll see that I've
invested quite a bit in squeezeboxes.

Hi All
I ask the question in this post as a slightly philosophical one and I'd
really appreciate this forum's thoughts on the matter.
I have been using my Sueezeboxes for a hair under 6 years now and I
love them. In addition, there still appear to be only two viable
alternatives in this market (
It seems that the Tunein Options now work, and have been for the last
couple of days. Good news.
Still doesn't show the radio tower icon on direct streams though.
Perhaps this is intentional, although it seems odd to drop it.

Do keep up at the back, there. 7.6.1 is the work-in-progress. It's a bit
better. No, really.

Why is SBS still proudly declaring that 7.6.0 is now available,
considering that 7.6.0 is still a work in progress ?
I'm running 7.5.5 on XP btw.

So...I just installed Triode's spotify plugin and it's been working well
for the last day or so until today.
Using Spotify exclusively seems to be OK; I can add tracks, albums,
artist radio with no problems.
However, if I listen to my own music, I see a number of tracks added to

You're right, of course. I should've been more specific. I was
looking for a digital solution. I'll check out the streamripper.
I'm aware of copyright issues.

You haven't exactly given a lot of clues either, so question and answer
are equally vague. There are lots of options. You can record on the

from the SB's analog or digital outputs. The real low-tech way would be

Recently I bought a 'Sumoh TinyAmp S60' (http://www.sumoh.com/). I like
its minimalist approach - the Squeezebox gets power from the TinyAmp;
the TinyAmp switches on automatically when there is a signal; the
volume is controlled by the Squeezebox volume.
