Still, I worry because it is such a niche product and it takes a brave company to carry on investing in this kind of technology in the long term. I sometimes wish that the Squeezebox line had the design integrity of the Sonos kit which looks much more like a system than Squeezebox. I think the SB Touch has stolen a march on the Sonos lineup but they need to build on that with an amplified touch-screen player and a touch-screen Radio (and Boom?) all designed around the same interface and with a similar style. It is encouraging that I see many fewer posts on the Touch forum from people with the wi-fi problems that always seemed to plague the Duet. Someone else will argue I have an external DAC so remove the DAC or if I'm using the analog outs then remove the two digital outs or I plan to use a server on my PC so remove the USB and SD card you can drive yourself batty trying to custom build for every possible user scenario when all along the product you desire is already there, granted at a higher price point than you wish. +1 Absolutely right in all respects. As the owner of two Receivers I would be quite happy to replace either or both of them with a Touch if/when I feel the need and have the cash. My problems with the Duet have always lain with the Controller that (though much more reliable than it was to begin with) still seems to fail to find my server on a regular basis. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android
First of all, let me say that I've been using Squeezecommander for a long time now and it's been decisive in migrating from CD to streaming flac; it's great to use and very responsive. With the latest updates, however, I'm having an issue. The update installs fine on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, but cannot be run on my Galaxy S (GT-i9000). All of a sudden the Market tells me my device is incompatible... Crucial to note is that I run a custom ROM + kernel (Juwe 6.0 and Semaphore 1.82) which is based on 2.3.5 (JVT), but that I didn't have this problem earlier, while I've run custom ROMs all the time. I'm not sure if the problem lies with Squeezecommander (0.9.6.1 runs fine), the ROM/kernel or the Market, although other apps can be installed without hiccups. I really like the new, small improvements in 0.9.6.3, so perhaps someone knows what's going on and can provide a workaround? I tried to pull the .apk from my Tab and install it through SDK, but the Tab isn't rooted and I have to keep it that way (work). Thanks. -- Jelle S. Re: [slim] Squeezebox server won't update on Mac
Thanks guys for the heads up! I've identified an issue with the update on OSX due to the product renaming. I'm working on it right now, it will hopefully be fixed in the next release. Until then... If you want to update (if everything is running fine now you may want to wait) just uninstall your SBS keeping all settings prefs when asked. Then just download the complete install pkg from MySqueezeBox.com My Media, install fresh. No need to uninstall. Just install the downloaded .dmg on top of the existing installation. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Since my screen resolution did not match the standard settings (I like my resolution somewhat higher), I got excluded from a bunch of stuff (from which I only use SqueezeCommander on a daily basis). Restoring to the default setting for a GT-I9000 did the trick and allowed me to update SqueezeCommander: solved, hooray! I guess the lesson is forget about the dusting in future and just keep it plugged in. All seems a bit flakey and does nothing to instill confidence with Logitech, particularly as I am still waiting to hear from their technical support. Re: [slim] LMS 7.7.0 does not let pc go to standby
I contacted Logitech support, and they had no advice, just a comment that there seem to be a lot of changes with the new media server, along w/ a link to the installer for 7.6.1, so I reverted to that version. [slim] Searching for my own posts
The Search mechanism here seems not to search on the userid field (a search for Swiftie yieded few of my own posts, and not the one I wanted). Is there any other mechanism which would display threads that I participated in, and threads that I originated? I know that I can see this by looking through all the threads, and checking the icon for threads where I participated, but this is a rather tedious process. -- Swiftie Swiftie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36866 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91505 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
