But I manually plonked OtherPlayers into the cache directory and

I did enable all 3rd party plugins but didn't see OtherPlayers

replaced OtherPlayers? When I tried that it didn't seem as functional

Thanks for the screenshot. No, but there's always a maximum width to a

Excuse the bump, but I really would like to know the answer to a
question I posed earlier:
cliveb;676745 Wrote:
Question: if during installation SBS discovers a mySQL database, does it
install itself into that rather than SQLite?

I suspect this may be the case because of the following:

I started with Mythbuntu (which includes MythTV, which uses MySQL).
When I added SBS, the install of SBS clearly started fiddling around
with MySQL settings in some way.

But when I installed plain Ubuntu then added SBS, I could see no
evidence of MySQL anywhere on the machine.

Almost, it's called Smart TV. It doesn't stream the video to a

But for Orange Squeeze there was also a bug that would cause our

[slim] Organising flacs and mp3s to different players.

2011-12-20 Thread forestcaver

I have searched on the forum and not found an answer to my problem.

I have most of my collection in flac. I have converted these to mp3s
and store bothsets of files. There are more mp3s than flacs, but not by
much.
I have a slimp3, receiver and touch.
I absolutely do not want to transcode on the server (running on a plug
computer).

I clearly need to serve mp3s to the slimp3, as it does not support
anything else. Ideally I would like to stream flacs to the other two.

How do people manage this ? How do you set up the server and library ?
Is this possible ?

Cheers,
Andy

agreements I've seen so far suggest that for most cases we don't
charge for a commercial license. It could be that the cases where
this falls apart is when you want to get artwork

I mean, here we're talking about the user's own music and populating
artwork, but what if the same track comes up in a last.fm playlist. We
don't need an agreement to show the artwork -- or do we? The artwork
comes from Logitech Media Server though, so maybe that's how we are

I assume we are free to use LastFM image URLs from other sources (e.g.

[slim] Windows 7 64-bit SP1 LMS player not found

2011-12-20 Thread kesey

Getting Logitech Media Server to work under Windows 7 64-bit SP1 LMS on
a new computer seems to be a hit and miss affair. I've spent about 10
hours trying every configuration I can think of to get it running. No
joy. I've searched everywhere I can think of, and found no solution
that I can get to work.

I've tried installing VMware Player, and installing LMS 7.7.1, 7.7.2
and Squeezeboxserver 7.6.2 in a WinXP Pro virtual box, having failed to
get any of those packages working in Windows 7 64-bit.

Some forum members got things going as in this thread:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86162 Some apparently
didn't. In any event, the solution is not solid or dependable.

Help please!!

In addition to the above, there is a problem with LMS failing to start
on re-boot.

None of the above problems is happening with my (i) Win 7 SP1(upgraded
from Vista orig) with various upgrades of Squeezecentre en route or
(ii) my Win XP Pro netbook, or (iii) my Sheevaplug running Debian
Squeeze.

sorry, missed the avast on your machine. From the other thread it seems
avast is part of the problem. Have you tried to uninstall avast entirely
and perhaps use MSE instead?

Re: [slim] Windows 7 64-bit SP1 LMS player not found

2011-12-20 Thread kesey

Thanks wilkes.

I've had the laptop working on wireless up until now, so I decided to
see if I could reach the Touch and Squeezebox 3 on wired connection.
The minute I connected to an ethernet cable, I picked up the Touch and
Squeezebox 3 and also the Boom.

It would appear that the problem may be to do with the wireless
adapter/wireless settings in the laptop. The adapter is a Realtek
RTL8188CE Wireless Lan 802.11n PCI-E NIC.

My router is a Linksys WRP400 802.11g. Maybe there is a conflict
between that and the Realtek RTL8188CE. If anyone knows of a possible
conflict and the best way to resolve it, please post the solution.

I'll get Googling in the meantime. All is apparently not lost:-)

Re: [slim] Windows 7 64-bit SP1 LMS player not found

2011-12-20 Thread w3wilkes

Don't know if this would help, but you could try disabling n on the
Realtek wireless NIC and go with just b/g since that's all your router
supports. It's also recommended that the PC running the LMS should be
a wired connection to the router (even though I've been able to run my
Duets with both the laptop and SBR running wireless). And lastly, I'm
still running 7.6.1, haven't ventured to LMS yet.

I am having a problem finding how to clear the playlist.

At the Now Playing screen, I long-press the list icon at the
upper-right and all I get is a list of the current playlist, with no
option to clear the playlist.

Even after clearing the playlist from my computer, Now Playing still
shows the last track that was playing before I cleared the playlist.

Edited to add: BTW, I am running Android 2.1 on my Hero HTC200.

I have no trouble if I use the WebUI to SBS (yes, I'm using 7.6.1),
select the player and then type Mark Levin in the Internet Radio search
box. Don't know how'd you do that from the radio itself, but you should
be able to have it play on the radio using the WebUI.

The emulator's problem is that it's running in its own virtual network. It
can't detect servers, as there can't be any in its LAN.

Can you grab some log output with adb? I think there should be some
information about the discovery process when you bring up the player

I would be happy to get a logcat capture for you, however I traveled
