As far as Apple TV vs. SB goes, here are some personal specifics,
divided into stuff one is good at and the other one not, and vice versa.
Pro AE:
- Fits perfectly into an Apple ecosystem including their cloud-services.
- Streaming all kinds of sounds, videos and pictures from all kinds of

Airplay is LAN-only (for all intents and purposes)
All Apple devices (Macs/iDevice/Apple TV/AE) all have digital outs (in
some form).
Streaming e.g. ALAC with Airplay and using digital outs *should* be

What are the walls and ceiling made of? Even though you've covered the
80% of the floor, the rooms seems rather "naked" - a lot of hard
surfaces. Try locating where the echoing is worst - clap hands and move
about and install damping accordingly. If thats not enough, you have a
good ceiling height

mfaine, I think it would be good if there was such a feature - it adds
value to the whole experience. However I think time has caught up with
the concept - 4 years ago I would have said YES. Nowadays there are too

One thing to try is resetting the Xilinx. Dona search for the procedure
- its something like holding 1 on the remote while plugging the device
in. Fixed a similar problem with my SB3 once.

Btw. what version are you running? There where some improvements
introduced at some point. But its a long time ago, so unless you are

I think I see the point - but I'm not sure how big of a difference it
makes as of today. Squeezebox'es, and in particular the server, uses
dedicated API's for accessing services such as Last.fm, Rhapsody,
Pandora, etc.
And the issues of A/V sync would still be there.
Its somewhat possible to stream any sound the computer produces through
its soundcard using the waveinput plugin. But you generally won't get
A/V sync for things such as Youtube.

Its probably because wav by default is streamed as flac. To change: Go
to Settings > Advanced > Filetypes and look up the setting for WAV.
Then disable all but the PCM (builtin) entry.

So 7.5 embedded aka. TinySC will not support SLIMp3 nor SB1. The
