Thanks - I don’t at the moment, but haven’t updated lately. Will check
tomorrow.

Hi Paul - I use your Radio France plug-in, and wondered if you could
tell me the simplest way to get thise stations back. Would the radio.net
plugin sort it? If your plugin still worked that would be a bonus, but I
can cope if it doesn’t! Thanks!

Re: [slim] Desert Island Discs Programme Archive

I've installed iPlayer Extras and the two extra files this morning.
However, the only year I can select is 2011 and the only programmes
listed in the A-Z are also from 2011. Is this operator error?

Thanks - I'll await developments. It's always reassuring to know that
you are not causing the problem yourself (especially when you've
recently been forced to move your setup onto another HDD.)

BTW the two files I was referring to were the two mentioned in the
message linked to in post #2 above.

That would account for the Windows 'do you really want to replace this

Re: [slim] Radio playlist mystery

2011-08-15 Thread mberger

OK - I've given up on this as I've discovered how to create an OPML
radio playlist inside 'Favorites'. It'll be in the wrong place, of
course (not under 'Internet Radio') but at least I can make it
hierarchical, which wasn't possible with my old playlist system.

Thanks for all the responses.

Re: [slim] Radio playlist mystery

2011-08-14 Thread mberger

Thanks Gary... Your playlist displays in exactly the same way as mine.
But yours is a list of URLs, whereas mine also has #EXTINF lines, with
station information that used to be displayed when I used the old
RadioPlaylist plugin. It seems these lines are now being ignored. Is it
possible that the #EXTINF info was read by the plugin, and SBS cannot
read it on its own?

Does anyone have a radio playlist with #EXTINF information that they
would be willing to share?

PS @Gary - nice to see a fellow Boot Liquor fan!

[slim] Radio playlist mystery

2011-08-12 Thread mberger

I’m having problems with a playlist of Radio stations that I created a
few years ago, when it worked perfectly using the RadioPlaylist plugin.
Unfortunately the plugin was not updated for later versions of SBS, so I
stopped using the playlist.

I decided to use it again today, so I imported it into my playlist
folder.

Now if I go (on a Boom) Music LibraryPlaylistsRadios Francaises I can
scroll up and down a list of 223 blank spaces. If I press play on any of
those spaces I get a brief flash of the URL, and then connection! But
what I see in the display is not the name I entered in the playlist,
it’s some other steam associated with the station. ( Sometimes station
information, sometimes track information.)

I can repeat this up and down the list, and those on which I have
pressed play still show the same information in the display. Until I
switch off and on, then all the stations go blank again!

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on, or what settings may
be wrong?

I’ve attached the playlist too in case that helps.

Thanks!

PS Several other playlists that I used to use with RadioPlaylist show
the same behaviour.

I ought to add that the first entry on the playlist has a URL that is no

Re: [slim] Can't connect to BBC radio from outside UK

2010-05-28 Thread mberger

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Unfortunately I haven't been able to
solve the problem. I tried concentrating on the iPlayer plugin (1.1.7)
with AAC and 'prefer WMA' the only selections. Squeezeserver reports
connections to the lo-res (48k) feeds and suggests that they play for a
few seconds then stop. On the Boom the display reads 'connecting' then
'stopped.' Annoyingly I can even get 'listen again' on the laptop but I
haven't brought any headphones with me!! I thought it might be a low
bitrate wifi problem but I can connect to US and European stations at
up to 128k. I think it might have to stay a mystery as I go back home
in three days!

[slim] Can't connect to BBC radio from outside UK

2010-05-27 Thread mberger

Hi - I'm on holiday in Europe using local wifi connections to listen to
internet radio via my laptop and Boom. All works well - except I can't
get any BBC stations on the Boom using either the native SS 'Internet
Radio' links or the iPlayer plugin. I get a message reading
'connecting' then 'stopped.' The streams play fine directly on the
laptop using BBC iPlayer, so I guess I must have a server setting wrong
somewhere. Has anyone got any ideas?

Re: [slim] Rebuffering is ruining the Squeezebox experience

2009-08-01 Thread mberger

Bryn - in my limited experience if you have a signal strength reading of
under 40% you will get some rebuffering. I got round the problem by
careful repositioning of the router. A very small movement can cause a
big change in strengh depending on the surrounding walls, electrical
implements etc. Failing that you could think about ethernet-over-mains.
