sure that SD's days would
have been numbered.
So - congrats to the SD Team and congrats to Logitech guys - I look
foward to new SD Products*
(*how about a portable and child friendly and child-proof squeezebox
please!)

I happy with a fudge for gapless if that is what it takes. MP3 is a
compromise - and there is no point implementing a perfect solution for
a lossy format.

Why? (and for that matter, how?)
Global Warming. All attributed to millions of Squeezebox users leaving
their Squeezebox's running 24/7.
How - I am sure that SlimDevices will innovate in this area in due
course. They love a good challenge.

Mine gets warm as well.
I'd like to see this improved in a later release of the hardware.

Doh, thanks for pointing this out. Have removed slim.exe from being an
Auto-started Service, as this was messing up my startup sequence script
:)

with a UK Plug - you'll need to supply your own Ethernet
Network cable etc if you use it wired.
You'll need a always on Broadband internet connection to listen to UK
Internet Radio - and a way to plug the Squeezebox into your home
network.

Using XXCopy ... (WIN32)
set source=\\htpc\d\media\music\
set dest=g:\backups\music\
xxcopy %source% %dest% /bb /s /oNxxcopylog.txt
Only copies new files to the backup. Any changed files get ignored.
If I know a file has changed, I delete it from the destination
beforehand.

I have a set of 'Creative Gigaworks T20's' (http://tinyurl.com/z3j5b)
in the kitchen.
Sound is quite loud, plenty of bass from a speaker set without a sub,
quality is pretty good. I would buy again.
Around £80.

Stevieweevie - your setup sounds very similar to mine. The latest router
firmware I found on the Netgear site is v3.01.25 - are you sure you have
3.01.29? If so, where did you get it? I assume your setup is working
fine - is 2,000kbps at 100%/100% fast enough to play FLACs
to the
Squeezebox :-).
Router is about 14 meters from the Squeezebox.
Normal signal strength is between 35% and 45%
Hope that is of some help.

AFAIK you can buy PoE kit to use with any Ethernet equipment?
Now Power over Wireless would be something I'd subscribe to!
