I feel your pain Jim. Ive setup rPi LMS servers and touch players for
friends and family. For some, even mentioning the internet is too
technical.

I am not sure of the state LMS/players, but I assume that LMS was

Michael, thank you. That had never occurred to me. It has happened to 2
friends so I just assumed it is automatic. I
I recall that there is an option to start LMS with a "--no mysqueezebox"
switch. Might that do it?
I doubt it: LMS was off, wasn't it? It then doesn't matter at all how
you would start it.

My comment - it seems to me that the auto switch, with no real display
of what server you are using, can trip our less experienced people up.
I think you'd still have to confirm the switch. Original hardware
players IMHO do NOT connect to any other server than the latest used
automatically.

sure as long as Pandora authentication can still happen.
But, I think I was trying to solve a user problem within the system,
hoping something was built in and simple.
I recall that there is an option to start LMS with a "--no mysqueezebox"
switch. Might that do it?

I agree Paul, with power and flexibility comes complexity/longer
learning curve. I agree that
My perception is that LMS works well for those willing to learn the
technical stuff surrounding the SB and LMS system. It is not the best
option for the person that simply wants to plug and play and not have to
worry about which server is providing the music. The UE Radio was

thank you, of course, but why not just not auto switch to mysb.com?, or,
at the very worse have an indication of which server is being used. Edit
(but then he

If this is the type of PS that has a physical switch, why not tape it
over? Or replace with "switchless" PS.
I suppose I should be able to dig around and experiment, but I'd rather
just ask :) go to -italics- for the question if the back story is
boring
We all know sb device, LMS, and mysb.com, and their roles pretty well.
But then we deploy them to technically challenged and inexperienced
friend and
