In foobar2000's converter "Destination" settings you can tell it to
write new files to "Source track folder". You want new RG tags
calculated after conversion as they will likely not be the same. All
other tags copy over.

Here's another enthusiastic endorsement for dbPoweramp. But it's not a
free tool, you ave to buy it.

thanks gary.
It appears that there is a way to do it. I sometimes use Switch Sound
File Converter which let's me convert and select out to same folder-it's
just slow. It appears that niether it nor foobar retains replaygain
tags. I may need to redo those.

Played around this morning converting copies of FLAC files to Mp3 using
Foobar-about 8 folders. I like the fact that it retains tags. What I did
not like is that it converted the files but did not put the converted
files in the original folders which is what I want to happen. Am I
missing a
I run it on Linux too. Guess I need to try 7.9.1 and see if that kills
any dependency on mysb.com
Thanks for the reply.

Well, I got it to go into setup mode - I'm not sure if disconnecting my
desktop computer from the net or +Power finally worked. It powered on
and asked the usual network questions. I didn't see anything that led me
to believe it actually did a reset. No blinking or anything on the
display.

Thanks for the great development bringing my Logitech devices and RPI's

Michael -
thanks as always. I was trying to run LMS
But you don't need mysb.com to use Spotty?
I run LMS on a RPi, with "--nomysqueezebox.com", and Spotty works
without problem.
Yes, I took out another 3 months for the price of one (£9.99) Spotify
subscription. :)
