My confusion is that NO troublesome tags remain attached to
tracks/files. Nothing is tagged with those genres. It is just that the
genre category remains in the genre list generated by LMS, although no
files/tracks are linked to the tag. The LMS report is that the category
is present but is

It's confusing. NO tracks/files are assigned the abandoned genre. The
genre shows up in the genre list, but is "empty". I think this means
that the genre categories are somehow retained, even though no
tracks/files are tagged with the genre name.
