I use it in combination with my Synology NAS. There is no difference
indelay between the official Lms app and orange.
i lke it better then the lms app. Most of all the maintenance option.
With the latest version the UI has improved big time.

If you have a Buffalo Linkstation you proberbly has 64 mb memory, that's
not much. I would say it is to little. Transcoding is out of the
question. I have a Synology DS110J, 128 mb and transcoding is not
possible.
So be sure no other processes are running when playing around with LMS.

No, disable the pitures in LMS, go to the advanced settings in LMS,
lookup music and artis information plugin.

What nas do you have and what version of LMS are you running?
If you want to select a folder, what folders do you see? None or not the
right ones.

Don't get me wrong here. I don't think it's an issue. As you say, LMS
behaves fine. But when you use your system like your used to, including
nas, lms, boxes and apps, network activity and so on, its common
knowledge your nas will stay awake.

Well, for a workaround, you can easily create a start/stop task in DSM's

@kolossos4730 all information is welcome. But to be honest, I doubt I
will end up with a 5" or 7" touch screen. A nice case and a good power
supply for the RPi is more likely. Let's say, more of the AudioPhonics

Depending on the DSM version the rollback options may be limited. I

Sorry, yes you are right. Are you referring to this post?
That would trigger transcoding on your nas. Something you don't want
according to bpa.
IMO, the best option here would be to find the CD's where gapless
playback is wanted.
Convert these files to FLAC.
This way your nas doesn't have to do any transcoding, and FLAC is
supported natively by all

Can't speak for other nas, but Synology still provides a package in
their Package Center. Its just a 1 click install. It runs pretty smooth
on all current models (some lower models do have limitations), and is
solid as a rock!
