Re: [slim] 7.9 Random Albums?
Please read carefully - "Modifications" are always Player related! - You start with V7.8 get a new server.prefs from scratch from 7.8 - You update to a newer Version with more features - The settings for "disable this or that" arent touched. > Since they all show with no players attached there should be a way to > change this with no players attached. its open source feel free to change whatever you like:o DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106146 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] 7.9 Random Albums?
I have a test instance of LMS that is running most of the time without any players attached most of the time. When I install a new LMS it goes on that machine. I verify that the basic functions work and then it's easy enough to pull a player from my production server. I also use this server when I do library layout changes to make sure they'll work like I planned. It's also a backup in the event I lose my production box. So if these items are as you say "always player related", none of them should show on an LMS instance with no players attached. 2 Duets - 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs Rock Solid with LMS 7.8.0 and WHS 2011 w3wilkes's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22973 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106146 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] 7.9 Random Albums?
The possibility to manipulate / customize Settings for Audio devices is and was always player related. The Plugin hooks in the customization like any other player related manipulation / customization. Code: So on a LMS that currently has no players attached how would you select/deselect the inclusion of these menu items in the WebUI? Give me one good reason why someone wants to use lms without having a player? Re: [slim] 7.9 Random Albums?
I see the Additional Browse Modes plugin and if I click the settings for that plugin it takes me to the same dialog as the Advanced tab -> Additional Browse Modes in the dropdown, but can't see how to manipulate the inclusion or exclusion of menu items in the My Music section of the WebUI. Seems like the Advanced tab -> Additional Browse Modes dialog should have the same list of items with check boxes as in the Player tab -> Additional Browse Mode dialog. I can't see any real use case for setting these for one player, but not another. Seems like it should be a global setting rather than a per player setting. Of course this is just my opinion... 2 Duets - 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs Rock Solid with LMS 7.8.0 and WHS 2011 w3wilkes's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22973 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106146 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

And yes a fresh install is a fresh install with all setting "up2date" - a update is always a update with some old settings (that you've set sometime) DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106146 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] 7.9 Random Albums?
Thanks, found it in the Player section as you said. The interesting thing is that the virgin install that showed the menu items had no players attached, so these couldn't be checked as they could in the 7.9 version that had players attached and didn't show these menu items. These menu items should be able to be set globally. If you then turn an item off or on for a given player that is different from the global setting, the player setting should take preference. So on a LMS that currently has no players attached how would you select/deselect the inclusion of these menu items in the WebUI? 2 Duets - 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs Rock Solid with LMS 7.8.0 and WHS 2011 w3wilkes's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22973 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106146 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
