Sorry Geoff, Not sure why yours recalculated all albums. I will check as there may be a foobar2000 setting that controls this behaviour (but will only be able to check the weekend as I'm out on business for this week). I'm 100% certain mine only calculates for tracks that don't have RG values

The first time is always the longest. If you've added a bunch of tracks to your library just scan your whole library again and you'll see that foobar will just update the tracks that don't have replaygain yet, so the next time will be quite quick. Minute or two per album on my PC. -- lrossouw

You want to remove volume adjustment in itunes. This is more of a manual feature. You need soundcheck (itunes way of doing what you want). Soundcheck adds a tag to each itunes song letting itunes know how to adjust the volume of the song to make it sound at an average volume. This allows
