I'll go ahead and add http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/5957 to the list of DDN tickets that could use a resolution pre-1.0, IMO this ticket should be pretty noncontroversial and is a clear bug, but evidently not everyone agrees, so a ruling from the gods on high should hopefully sort it out
