Greetings
I am running a fairly old rig on debian testing with 2 gpus and want to run
5 monitors.
The 5th is hdmi connected and is a 4k monitor with the other 4 all being
1920x1080.
After I installed the 4k monitor I had regular graphics sub-system freezes
(won't come out of suspend typically)

It has been brought to my attention I was wrong: dpkg -S doesn't require
privileges and runs fine in userland.

Definitely not an approach for automated package removal, but perhaps a
valid starting point for decluttering manually:

Hi all,
I usually prefer to stick on released system, but I'd start working on OpenSCAD
and the version available is rather oldish. As it has lots of graphical
dependencies, I think it may be easier to switch to Chimaera than to pin all
that stuff. I run Openbox, btw.

Thanks for your well thought reply and advice.

Thank you Florian for your good advice on pinning strategy.
What I am really scared of is if having installed different gcc
packages could screw up my system.
Does your strategy take into account this, i.e. is your suggestion a way to
take care of such situations?
did you have any such problems

Hello all,
I could use some advice on a package pinning which I have set.
I need a version of ripgrep (>11.0) only available in Ceres repos.
Hence, I enabled the ceres repo in my sources.list file and I pinned all
packages from this release with:

I performed the update yesterday and, with only a few minor changes, was
able to get the client's server back. This was, without a doubt, the

systems.
Ran into a few minor issues, which I'll record here in case
