The marketing list have been discussing how to get the Guides into some
libraries. Jean is on the marketing list so they have been quite well informed
about what is going on with the guides.
There has been some discussion about e-books which seem to be becoming more
accepted in some

editing the wiki page to add links to the Getting Started chapters,
some of the chapters are not yet available there. Also, not all
chapters are ready for publishing, though JohnS and PeterS are doing a

Chapters 0,1,2, and 3 uploaded to ODF, Writer Draft folder.
Chapter 0, Figure 1 is the same as the GS 0 guide. It can be altered as
required.

Apologies for spamming all mailing lists, but I wanted to share the
success with everyone.
I have collected clippings in English, but it looks there are as many in
other languages. Although done in a hurry, for the usual reasons, I
think that this announcement has been another big step for
I finished going through Dan's draft version of this doc a couple of days ago.
I notice Jean has now updated the doc into the published folder. Most of the
handful of glitches I noticed were cleared up by Jean but here are 3 anyway:
