Hello
I agree with Kenneth about what to use for images being place in LO documents.
PNG format and a minimum of 300 DPI when embedding images. From my own past
experiences in technical writing I have found that this is the best to use. You
get no formatting or fuzziness using these settings,
Hello all,
I'm looking at the contributor guide and past versions of the user guides
now. I have some questions about images.
1. Are there source files (ODG, SVG, etc.) stored in Nextcloud or
otherwise? I don't see anything for Writer or Getting Started, current or
previous version.
2.
Hello Jean,
I will start the work on libreoffice base guide 6.4 tommorow.

Hello Peter
Thanks for pointing this. Indeed the User interface has changed a lot
and the help pages are a bit outdated.
I'll be glad to review the Help based on your findings. Can you annotate
the changes you discovered in the review so I can go directly to the point?

Thanks, all.
Peter and Jean: will do.
1. One outstanding issue is that raised by Robert, regarding the DPI of
screenshots. Actually, I was thinking that existing screenshots look kind
of wonky in my PDF viewer (Okular) at many zoom levels.
I've been thinking mostly about diagrams and annotated

Hi Jean & Kees,
I have downloaded the file from the feedback folder updated with Jean's
comments and worked on all the required changes including the change in
images. Please let me know if that's not the protocol to be followed and if
the changes in the file had to be made directly in nextcloud

Kees,
My Win10 setup showed the drop-down palette of Favourites from the
Special Characters icon, but my Linux setup didn't. So I dug around a
bit more and I have found the answer to the mystery. Look in the
"Visible buttons" list for the standard toolbar; you should see TWO
icons for Special
Kees,
I thought Shravani was still working on that chapter. Perhaps I’m wrong.
I don’t know why you’re seeing something different. What o/s are you using?

Hi Jean
I thought Shravani had updated the chapter and you did the first review.
So I thought to do the second review.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I am using Windows 10 and LibreOffice 6.4.2.2

Hi
I am giving chapter 2 of the Writer Guide a second review.
I stumbled into a comment I can not reproduce.

Mostly we haven’t kept source files for images other than in the chapters
where they’re used, except for some that are labelled - and those not

There is one tool in Draw that appears to have no function at all. This is
3D-Effects.
It appears when you right click on a 3D object and also appears in Visible
Buttons.
I have tried using 3D-Effects several times in different situations, but
getting no response.
Can this be removed from Draw
