Got it in one, Monty, thanks! Changed OneNote to autostart for this
particular project I'm on that I'm using it a lot for. And it got itself
loaded before DQSD got there. I only saw it after the crash, since that
was the first reboot after the change to OneNote. So I changed the
hotkey to Win-Q for QuickSearch in preferences.js, and all is well and
happy.

[DQSD-Users] Two Things

2005-04-20 Thread ryan_carpenter

I have two files to share on unrelated projects.  The first is a requested update for the bugmenot.com search.  This puts the first result in the DQSD itself, rather than opening a new window (unless the /old switch is used).  I'd like to figure out how to adapt it to cycle through all known login/password pairs, but I haven't figured that out yet.  If anyone cares to shuffle through the code, feel free.

My bigger project is a GUI for prefference setting, something that I imagine keeps some less techie folks from using DQSD.  I've added a section to the Help/About screen, but it doesn't actually affect the preferences file yet.  Please let me know what you think of the interface, especially ways in which it could be simplified ansd improved.

If you're interested in pursuing this project, it seems there are 3 big things to do.
1) Fix the css/html to make it look good
2) Write _javascript_ to pull the preference variables into the form
3) Edit localprefs.js based on individual changes to the form

You can check out the changes by putting the attatched copy of helpbox.js into the main DQSD folder.

No and No. No programs were installed or re-installed in the interim.
There was a system crash (I've GOT to get a new DVD recorder, this one
stinks) and when it came back up, the problem was there.

If two different programs try to use the same hotkeys you will get that
error. I haven't had this problem with DQSD but I have with other programs.

Subject: [DQSD-Users] Error "Hotkey registration failed"?

After a system crash yesterday, I am now getting an IE error message

when I enable DQSD: "There was a problem initializing the enhanced

keyboard support - some key combinations and hotkeys may not work

(Error: 'Hotkey registration failed')"

System is Windows XP Pro SP2. Error occurs after doing the usual SP2

clicking to enable DQSD. I tried re-installing 3191, but that doesn't

seem to have solved anything. Arrow up through the previous searches

works fine, but it's now strictly one-way -- you can't arrow down if you

up-arrow one too far.

Charlie.
