[Drakelist] TR-4 CW VOX Delay

Good Morning All: Playing with a nice TR4 here and wondering if there is a way to extend the delay when using CW mode. I see very little difference from CCW to CW on the VOX control in CW although it works fine in SSB. Would like to lengthen the drop out time without messing up the VOX

Curt - VOX delay is adjusted with R106, which is selected at final test. It is designed for SSB, as is the rest of the TR-4. You _might_ be able to find a value that is a reasonable compromise over the narrow range of adjustment provided by the VOX GAIN control, but ... Initial value for

I recently acquired a R-4C receiver and T-4XC and the transmitter has a problem. With power applied to it after warm up the meter on transmitter will go negative to the left of zero and i get a carrier in the receiver at about 60 db on the same frequency on both VFO's. checked all tubes and

Look at the schematic. Adjusting r 106 will adjust the delay. This is a stock 3.3 M resistor, increasing it will increase the delay. I have done this before and it brings the control in line that the same setting on the antivox control is good for both cw and ssb. apparently, not all radios

I have found that to get the CW delay that I prefer, increasing R106 above 3.3 meg is not enough. In fact you will reach a point where the VOX will hang. I suggest replacing C143 with a .47 ufd capacitor and then experiment with values for R106. You could instead mount a pot in an unused hole
