Greetings Drake enthusiasts:
I'm somewhat weary in beginning to use Deoxit contact cleaner on delicate
electronic switches and the like for the mere fact that I'm afraid to spray (or
dab) not enough or a little too much of the product. In the instances of
hard-to-reach places, is thoroughly s
Curt:
I "feel your pain" on this problem. What I finally did was follow a little
paragraph "ditty" in the TR-4C's manual (and Ron Baker's suggestion) and added
a small manual "on-off" switch plugged into the mike socket. It works for me.
Like you, I found it VERY annoying having the CW/VOX
Folks:
I have a TR-4C and just getting into the ham "scene" again. I'm setting-up my
new station and wondering what is the best all-around coax for vertical and
beam antennas with this rig? I'm thinking RG-8/U.please advise. Thank you.
Folks:
Does anyone out there have a suggestion (or two) on how I can "tune" my Drake
TR-4C for transmitting an easier way other than the "manual's" method?I do
not have access to a wattmeter or anything like that to put between the TR-4C
and the antenna.
I kind of find the manual's tune
Gary:
Thank you for the reply!
When I send CW with my TR-4C the "S" meter kicks up-scale as so does the
current meter. Is that normal?
Also, since I'm a slow code sender (at this time) the relay pops-out a little
too often as I pause between words. I adjusted the anti-VOX as far as it will
Does anyone know if the TouchPaddle.com keyers will work with Drake "tube"
transceivers? Are these keyers worth their cost in quality and endurance?
Thank you.

I recall seeing on Drakelist several months ago a recommended Drake cabinet
paint alternative to the original (close enough) manufacturer's color (black).
I believe it was a Rust-Oleum brand spray paint. The paint's stock number was
also provided. Does anyone have info. on this? Thank you.
I want to give a "Big Thank You" to all the boys and girls that responded to my
earlier Drake cabinet paint question!! : - )
I very much appreciate the invaluable information.

I'm finding it quite difficult to locate a Drake 7075 microphone in hopes to
keep my TR-4C station pure "Drake". Does anyone know what current microphone
(manufacturer and model number) would best counterpart the old 7075 in design
and function? Also, who was the manufacturer of the 7075?
Has any of the group ever have any compatibility problems with a Heil HM-10
microphone on Drake tube rigs? This particular model Heil seems to be for the
solid-state persuasion, from what I hear (??). Thank you.

I recently acquired a Drake 7075 microphone. I would like to dismantle it and
spruce it up a bit. Does anybody know how the thing comes apart. There
appears to be no screws to dismantle the head, nor a means to get at the
element. I don't want to begin forcing components before I know how
Greetings to all!
I'm looking to acquire an antenna tuner for my TR-4C. I decided to go for a
simple state-of-the-art, reasonably priced new tuner by one of the leading
manufacturers. Does anyone have a suggestion on a model compatible to the
TR-4C pushing-out approx. 300-watts? Thank you.
Amen to all of that!

I enjoy reading everyone's (especially yours) remedies and comments on the
"ills-and-chills" of the Drake equipment. It would be nice (wishful thinking)
if you could start compiling all of this information in some sort of Web site
data base for future reference. A kind of "hints-and-kin
Greetings Drake aficionados:
Where may I find a downloadable manual for the MN-4C tuner? The regular BAMA
source doesn't seem to be user-friendly of late. Thank you.
