Dear DSpace-Tech List,
I have customized our item-view.xsl to make the authors clickable and I
started using LC Naming Authority. My problem is that clicking the link for
the authors with an authority key will return "Sorry, there are no results
for this browse." since the code to make the authors
Hi Kirti:
No, you do not need to rebuild DSpace. The next time MediaFilter is run it will
'see' the new configuration.
But I am still a bit puzzled over what you are trying to accomplish: a
thumbnail of an image (GIF, JPG, etc)
contains a lot of specific visual information about the image it was
Hi,
Came across this in one of the answer in the mailing list.
---
After having changed dspace.cfg,
1. rebuild dspace,
2. run [dspace]/bin/filter-media,
3. and run [dspace]/bin/index-all
---
I just change dspace.cfg for thumbnails . Do I need to rebuilt Dspace ?
Thanks

Ben,
One last thing to add. It's also possible that the external site may
provide other metadata formats that you can harvest via OAI-PMH.
So, even though their "oai_dc" format may be invalid, there may be
another format you can use.
To determine if other metadata formats are available for har
This is the correct script. Outlook *fixed* the format in the previous message.

Hi Ben,
It sounds like you are trying to run an OAI-PMH Harvest of another site
(in this case it looks like an EPrints site) from the XMLUI interface.
It looks like the main issue here is that the external site is giving
you *invalid* "oai_dc" metadata. As the OAI-PMH protocol states,
"oai_dc"
Hi All,
I've found a similar situation with 1.8.2 and the problem still is with the
pdftoppm tool when extract the PDF's thumbnail, the tool has changed the output
file naming schema.
In the logs (in debug mode) throws this:

Hi Kirti:
Not sure if you are having other problems, but I did want to clarify how
MediaFilter works.
It is a general set of tools for operating on your bitstream content, and the
primary use for most people
is to extract text (for indexing) from PDFs Word files etc, not to produce
thumbnails o

What these errors are saying is that the DSpace database has a record
of a bitstream, but this bitstream cannot be found on the disk (in the
DSpace assetstore).
The only reasonable situation I can think of when this can happen is
if you made an error during restoring backups - if the database you
Hi,
We have Dspace 1.6.2.
I am trying to enable thumbnail creation.
Ran ./filter-media in dspace/bin directory
Got following errors while executing script. After the execution I could see

Hi,
Thanks to you the Snoobi Analytics in our DSpace works now!
We added the tag to our custom XMLUI theme (based on Mirage):
