Re: [dspace-tech] Shibboleth authentication: no password change in DSpace
Hi Tom, Sorry, my mail was a bit unclear: We have installed DSpace 6.0 and use as authentication methods password and Shibboleth. In both methods, it is possible to change the password. In the password authentication, this is ok, in Shibboleth authentication, we don´t want this possibility to be displayed on the profile site. Editing xmlui.user.editmetadata is here no solution as it deactivates the possibility to change the password, but not the display on the profile site. Hi, Marion, Can you actually change your password if you are a shib user? This thread makes it seem like the option to change your password would be displayed but not actually be allowed if you tried it. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/dspace-tech/rxZOsaqvqY8 I wonder if setting xmlui.user.editmetadata = false would remove the password change option. [dspace-tech] Shibboleth authentication: no password change in DSpace
Hello, Recently, we activated Shibboleth authenticaton in our DSpace installation and it works fine. There is just one annoying thing: As a Shibboleth user, you can change your password and we want to disallow this.
