Re: [SlimDevices: Duet] Connection problem with receiver

You could open up the receiver (torx screws under rubber base pad) and
re-seat the wifi card and any other connections. I did have to replace a
wifi card in one of my receivers.

Hi guys,
I tried the power supply that makes the second Duet combo work and
unfortunatly that did not change anz of the behaviours.

But thanks for the suggestions.

+1, agree! I was going to say that ;) Try swapping the supplies and see
if the problem travels with the ps.

This could very easily be a failing power supply. I replaced a receiver
power supply with something like this, set it to 9 volt and picked the
connector that fit the receiver. Been running fine now for a couple of
years;

Re: [SlimDevices: Duet] Connection problem with receiver

2021-08-15 Thread Mercenary

Hi guys,
I did not manage to make it work.
I do have the controllers that belong to the receivers and managed to
get one of them connected without any issue.
The second one simply does not want to remain stable. It switches from
flashing quick to slow (red), sometimes turns blue, sometimes green,
then back to red, then yellow...just all over the place.

Tried the UDAP tool with all sorts of combinations of cables. It never
even finds it on the intranet but it can see my other devices.

So I guess the thing is bricked. It has been sitting in the drawer for a
while and maybe, during that time, has decided to go to Squeezebox
heaven...

Thanks for all the suggestions.

oops! my comment was directed to the op, both of your sigs have 2 duets
in them! :o I should have quoted!

My experienced is based on trying to make receivers work (in retrospect)
in marginal wifi conditions, basically beating my head against the wall,
and therefore, very experienced in resetting them :). I still have a
couple receivers in play, but an lucky to have them local to a hub.

setup which is almost never. I must be lucky, my receivers are both wifi
and are rock solid! I have used UDAP in the past and find that having
the receiver wired when setting up with UDAP is more reliable.

your sig says you have 2 duets, so do you have a controller handy?

I have always had to bring receivers up from reset with a controller
from reset. Press and hold receiver until fast, then slow flash red.
>From power off, press and hold '+' on controller, while pressing power.
I would use ethernet (or a local/strong wifi).

I have not tried udap

For UDAP to find the receiver you must 1st plug an ethernet cable to the
receiver then long press the front button until you get the fast red
blink. release the button and it should go to the slow red blink. UDAP
should be able to see the receiver new.

Re: [SlimDevices: Duet] Connection problem with receiver

2021-08-07 Thread Michael Herger

The receiver is not recognized by the router, neither on WIFI nor on
eithernet.
After power up (and also after pushing the button for +5 seconds) it
keeps blinking, mainly red but once in a while yelllow for a moment,

Red blinking is "awaiting setup". You'd need to use a Controller or the
"Net::UDAP" script to configure its network settings. See

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?57861
https://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SBR_front_button_and_LED.html

I also tried the udap console method but it would not find the player so
no success there.

Ok, that would explain why you'd sometimes get to blue - which means
that at that point at least it was connected to a network, but didn't
find LMS.

You should give more detailed information about what you're doing with
the script, what you got in response etc. There are people who've
successfully set up a Receiver using that tool (I haven't used it yet).
