Set DX4WIN and 7700 both at 4800 bd. Didn't work.
Set RTS DTR both asserted and voila!! Works!!

I have resolved my problem with trying to get DX4WIN to communicate with my
new Yaesu
FT-5000.
It was the serial cable I made up that I assumed pins 2 and 3 should have a
flop from end to end. I should not have been a nul modem type cable!
When I redid the cable to have pin 2 go to pin

What Jim said. It has been working perfectly here under Windows 7
Pro X64 from Day One.
Just be sure to install it in your system root directory (e.g., C:/ )
and not one of Windows various program directories.
