[Dx4win] CW Window looses focus

2002-03-29 Thread Larry Gauthier
John,

I operate about 30% CW, and do not use the alt key for changing speeds, I
use the + and - keys. If you have a large keyboard with numeric keypad,
you can just hit + and - on the keypad to change speed; if you have a
laptop, you press the - (dash) and then shift+.

Works for me... unless I totally mis-understand what you're talking about.

Does anyone know why the CW Keyboard looses focus (switches
to the program bar) when the ALT key is pressed?

This is annoying since you use the ALT key to change the
CW speed. If you hold the ALT key longer than the F9 or
F10 key, the CW keyboard stops.

 John, K3CT

[Dx4win] Restore

2002-03-29 Thread jbattin
I recently had a power outage When the system came back up I answered
yes to the save question. The log is now missing a few days of operation.I
find a dxwin~xb file that looks like the back-up I did on the day of
failure, but I do not know if it has the missing qso's and can not find
anywhere in the Help files instructions on how to convert this file in to a
log file.
It seems the help menu needs some plain language regarding back-up and
restore operations.

Thanks to all that replied. Problem solved, my D44 qso on 160 has returned
from QSO heaven just in time for Easter.

Re[4]: [Dx4win] QSL mgr update#6

2002-03-29 Thread Vlad UA6JD
Dear friends-
I am using data of managers from DX bulletins -
so if published incorrect data it will be wrong info in my update.
QSL information was change from one issue to other - so my update is
no cumulative.
Before give update I was inform what type of DX bulletins I am using.
It was no possible give 100% correct info - so before update from my
information please check by yourself.
If anybody find any mistake and inform me I will add correction to
next update.
Everybody can convert managers data from any DX bulletin - it was VERY
easy . I am using Word97 and it work perfect.
Sorry for trouble which I give with wrong info.
Any QSL info from WPX SSB Contest will be appreciate for special
Contest update.

Best regards,
 Vlad

LA Questions that arise are:
LA Do later updates overwrite the old data?
LA Is there any warning when this happens? I don't want to overwrite old
correct
LA data with possible incorrect new data. I wish it was possible to keep a
log of this data.
LA How reliable is Vlad's data? That is, which DX bulletins does he get data
from
LA and how reliable are they. I have noticed a lot of DX bulletins will have
conflicting
LA or just plain wrong QSL manager data.

LA AFAIK there is no way to extract the DX station call and QSL manager call
LA to a file - that makes it very hard to check what's going on.

[Dx4win] CW Window looses focus

2002-03-29 Thread Joe Giacobello, K2XX
Frankly, I didn't know about the + and - keys. I have always used the alt
F9 and alt F10 keys. Thanks for the tip!

[Dx4win] DXCC

2002-03-29 Thread Kenth Johansson
I know this has been discussed before but I´ve can´t find the information.

I intend to apply for DXCC 20 and 15 meters for the first time. How do I
configure the search filter to get a list of one confirmed QSO for each
country on one band at a time.

Any help?

[Dx4win] DXCC

2002-03-29 Thread Wendell Wyly W5FL
Do a DXCC report submittal. Be sure to right click the listing so you can
print it both to your printer and to a file for safekeeping. It will take
the last confirmed qsl card for each country that you have 100 or more and
give you a complete listing. Works great if you are also doing Mixed,
Phone, or CW submittals, also.
