[Dx4win] DX4Win and FT1000MP
Hello, I am just configuring my DX4Win software to connect to the radio and TNC modem. Could someone tell me which parameters should be used in a case of FT1000MP? I know the baud rate should be 4800, and the COM field is also correct. However, the radio does not work. What about the 'address field at 'File/preferences/radio'? Hopre for your help. yl Wanda SP7IWA

If and when I will have positive results I will surely post on the list. I have my Yaesu FT-1000MP MKV and DX4win set up the same way; however, I'm using a USB to RS232 adapter. Everything works fine but slow. When I did use the one (1) com port I do have on my computer instead of the adapter response was much, much faster. 73, John, KC9JS Twin Lakes, Wisconsin -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ted Sarah - W8TTS Sent: Wednesday, November 24, 2004 5:33 AM To: Wanda_Jak Cc: Dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] DX4Win and FT1000MP Hi Wanda, Mine is setup like this... [Dx4win] Config 2 monitors??
Mostly likely this question pulls ...further...away from DX4WIN; but: Two separate monitors for those app's; that sounds really neat. I run VE3NEA's Hamscope and DXAtlas on the 2nd screen, with DX4Win taking up all the screen-estate on the first one. Works very well. It'd be even better if they worked automatically with each other (prefix lookup on the DXAtlas map using DXAtlas's superb lookup, and even rotator control...)

[Dx4win] Config 2 monitors??
Mike, I did this with my computer, I use windows XP, so I guess (??) it aint far off with Win2000? It involved installing a second video card. Then after it has been installed if you go to control panel, check under displays you will see that windows has configured two monitors. You can then select which is right or left hand monitor ( or top and bottom). Its really good when used, I have all the amateur radio icons on the right screen and all the normal (non radio) icons on the left screen. When you open the software you can then decide which window (or windows) you want on which screen, windows will remember their position (you have to check a box in control panel) and each time you switch on the software, the windows are installed on the correct monitor. You can make it 3 monitors if you want! My new video card had two video outputs, so combined with the one already on the computer makes 3. However you need a lot of desk space! Good luck, its easy to do, cheap and great results! 73's de Tony G8DQZ -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mike Bragassa Sent: 24 November 2004 15:44 To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Config 2 monitors?? Joe, When you installed DXTELNET it created a sub-directory called DXT4WIN. The CDROM data is better integrated into DX4WIN. Using QRZ.COM takes too lookups vs one. 2. If the Internet is down, you're stuck! 3. By buying the data, you support the people who maintain it. 4. If you have the disk space, copy the CDROM data to your hard drive, and lookups will be FAST. You can open the F3 window and step from QSO to QSO and the data is updated instantaneously. 73 - Jim AD1C = Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.com ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win

[Dx4win] Post-5BDXCC submissions
I have hundreds of confirmed QSOs to submit to the DXCC desk, some of which comprise a 30 meter DXCC and the rest are just for the Challenge. Never thought about the mechanics of how to prepare the submission list with DX4WIN, so am asking for your ideas. It appears that the best thing to do is to manually set the group field to the same new value for all the QSOs to be submitted, then produce a custom report based on that. Is there a better way to handle this? 73, Floyd - K8AC

Be absolutely certain that you have the CORRECT serial cable connecting your computer to the FT1000MP.
