Re: [Dx4win] FT-950 with DX4WIN

2012-05-04 Thread Ernie
John,

Yes I have the FT950 working with DX4WIN. Here is my setup. Defaults are
checked, address 00 and baud 4800. I have poll rate set for 2000; RTS
and DTR unchecked. On the radio CAT BPS 4800, CAT TOT 3000, CAT RTS
off. I am using a standard USB to COM adapter on comm port 5 with a
simple gender changer to plug into the rig.

Once you get that working you will need the RIG file that I modified.
The one that comes with DX4WIN has some timing problems that may cause
some computers to hang the program at times. I can send a copy of my
modified RIG file direct to you if you want.

[Dx4win] DX4WIN Default packet cluster settings

2012-05-04 Thread Jon

Gentlemen,
Is there a way to have the packet cluster start
at a default log on to my favored cluster?

It would be nice feature if it came back
to the same one you were on when it was shut down.
I use primarily only one cluster over and over so a default setting
would be
extremely beneficial.
Having to go through the log on motions each time is a pain.

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN Default packet cluster settings

2012-05-04 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
It already does that, the last node you connected to is at the top of
the list when you restart.

Three ENTER keystrokes starting in the Packet Window is enough to get
connected. There is no auto-connect.

If you use the Updater, and don't have a list of cluster nodes you
always want at the top, then your node-of-choice will be reset to
where it used to be. Read the documentation on the updater to see how
to do this.

2012-05-04 Thread Bill Salyers
I have also used the 950 with the same settings as described below. There
was a hang problem with XP, but, moving to Win 7 seems to have solved that.
I would be interested in the modified RIG file, however

Re: [Dx4win] FT-950 with DX4WIN

2012-05-04 Thread Ernie
Hi Bill,

I have uploaded my modified FT-950 rig file and placed it on one of my
web pages in case others want it. This is the first time that I have
used Google pages for downloading so I am not sure that it will work.

Go to:
https://sites.google.com/site/erniehjr/home/dx4win
Then let me know if you get the file OK.

[Dx4win] ADIF to CQ DX Marathon version 5.0 released

2012-05-04 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
The CQ DX Marathon is an annual recognition issued by CQ Magazine. It
is the sum total of the number of different entities, plus the number
of CQ zones, worked in a given year.  You can find out more about the
Marathon here:

   http://dxmarathon.com/

This conversion program reads an ADIF log and writes a comma-delimited
spreadsheet that can be copied/pasted into the official CQ Scoresheet,
which you can download from the link above.  For more information see:

   http://software.ad1c.us/marathon/

Here are the changes in this version:

Ver. 5.0 - 5 May 2012
Prefix for Republic of South Sudan is now Z8
Updated modes for 2012

Please read the instructions thoroughly if this is the first time you
are using the conversion program.  Let me know if you have any
problems.
