[Dx4win] Label Printing/Callsigns
Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to add an extra line when printing QSL labels? Using 'File- Preferences-Set Parameters-Labels Greetings' you get two. I have been using L7160 labels for a time but there is a lot of wasted space on them which could be put to good use with the addition of an extra 'optional' line! Also, there are a few 'special event' stations running these days with long callsigns i.e. SQ200CHOPIN/4 which will not fit in the callsign window. [Dx4win] Label Printing
Hi, Has anyone had problems printing custom labels in v8.02? For whatever reason I cannot get the programme to recognise an A4 page with 30 labels on it - 70x30mm - 3 across/10 down with no spacing between labels. I have changed the font sizes and removed 'using lines' etc but DX4WIN will not recognise this custom label. If I switch to Avery standard labels L7160 or L7159 it prints well. However, if ''Uses lines' is selected the date 'box' line prints the last numer in that filed no matter what font size is selected!!! The 'Label Editor' also prevents me choosing the number of QSO's per label. Any help appreciated. [Dx4win] Fw: Label Printing - Fixed
Me again. I think I have solved the problem regarding label printing. I was using the K9YY_C3 slashed Zero font when I began printing my labels and the date entry was running over the box lines when 'Using Lines' was selected. I have now tried several different fonts and ended up with the Slashed Zero Aerial font and the date now falls within the printed box. Your selection of font may be important if you are to avoid the same problem when printing lines on your labels. I then downloaded v8.03 and tried again with the 'Label Editor' 'Custom Label' to try and use the Avery DPS30-100 sheets I had available. With some 'tweaking' I have now managed to get an acceptable result using a Brother HL-2035 laser printer. Hi everyone, I went to open my log v8.02 this morning to find that I had lost three days of QSO's even though I have used and backed up the log daily. Not only that, the first 4000+ entires in my log had no information other than X's in all logbook fields! The demo log included with v8.02 had several days worth of my latest contacts in it even though I have never opened it or saved to. I only have the two logs in the 'Save' folder.my main station log and the demo log. This may be a 'glitch' on my part but as I have not edited or played around with the logs or had a computer crash I have no idea why it happened. I eventually found a '~xl' back up file which fortunately had the missing information in it!!! Hi Mel, I run XP Pro. When I leave the programme it says I have updated the logbook and do I want to save it. I always say 'yes' and up to now have not had a problem. I also back up the log to a memory stick, usually once a week. Over the past three days I have opened the programme several times and each time my last entry was in the logbook. This morning when the log opened I had the problem. Only the hardrive on my PC. I use no network or remote access. Hi Mel, I am positive that the correct log was saved and have no explanation for the missing entries or the X's that replaced earlier logged QSO's. I have opened and saved the log several times today and made a few backups as well. All these files are good and work correctly. Can you be absolutely sure you never opened the demo log? If you did so even once, the program would open it automatically after that... As for the X's, it's hard to know if that happened while the log was open by DX4Win or there is another issue. It's a reminder that we not only need backups, but preferably a few generations...
