[Dx4win] Question on the ver 9

2018-04-08 Thread Michael Gulbranson via DX4WIN
I just updated to ver 9. Installation went well. One question I have is
about sizing the windows. I want to increase the size of the
(qso/Sort/filter/qsl/LOtw/.etc)window. However, I don't seem to be able. I
can resize most of the other windows

I think I'll be waiting a good long while before trying the new Trusted QSL:

May 21, 2013: From the Trusted QSL software development team - We announced
last week that TQSL 1.14 would be available today (20 May 2013). However,
three defects were reported last week:

a.. Incorrect behavior when the user specifies the wrong ITU zone
b.. Incorrect behavior when TQSL is invoked via command line without the
-l switch present
c.. Incorrect behavior when processing an ADIF file containing duplicate
QSOs when TQSL is running on MacOS These defects have been corrected, but we
must test the corrected version before publicly releasing it. Expect the
public release within the next 10 days.

[Dx4win] Rig control

2012-09-19 Thread Michael Gulbranson
Hi All:

I need some help. My station is set up for SO2R contesting. I use DX4WIN
as my general logging software. My issue is how do I toggle the rigs when
on SSB when using DX4WIN? I want to leave my rigs' mic connections
connected to the SO2R box and use my headset mic that is connected to the
computer sound card for SSB.

I don't want to disconnect the above and install the base station mic for
general use. I tried toggling the rigs in the File drop down box to see
if that would do it..nope. I toggle the rigs for receive only.

I do get audio from the headset through the computer, the SO2R box and to a
rig, just happens it is my SP rig. I want the audio to go to my run radio.
General purpose operation and chasing DX , not contesting.

Thank you in advance

[Dx4win] DX Spot color and priority issues

2012-03-14 Thread Michael Gulbranson
Gents:

Good morning.

History: A few days ago I moved from packet to telnet to get dx spots.

I have an observation to report and ask for your comment. I see spots in
the packet window of stations on bands I know I have not worked. Yet in DX
Spot [DXCC] window they show up black (indicating no urgency to work them)
with a priority number of 9. I have the DX colors selected.

When I ran packet before, the software would indicate priority number and
color would change accordingly.

I have not changed anything in Preferences/QSO as I think all should be the
same as before.

I wait your comments.

Thanks

Guys:

I need some direction to configure 8.05 to connect to VE7CC instead of

In Preferences (set to expert) I changes both packet and RTTY com port to

You raise an important point Jim. D4W was primarily designed for
accurate award tracking. Automatically populating award fields with
unreliable data (which is supported in other programs) is NOT a good
idea in this context. As I think most people know, some of the
information in the callbooks cannot be relied on. Info such as county
and grid and even state should always be verified. Given the orientation
of D4W I don't think Paul will change it... though he might surprise me
;-) I would like the function of the update button to be expanded and I
suspect it will be if Paul ever implements the requested QRZ XML look-up
feature.

Auto-update in this context means the callbook lookup follows the QSO
window. If you enter a new call or go to one previously logged, the
F3 window will update (change) with the callsign.

There is no way to get the RAC data auto-copied into the log. While
some may want it to work this way, I'd never do it. For example,
counties and grids can be wrong in many cases.

[Dx4win] Latest version and W98 compatibility

[Dx4win] Computer Freeze when running 7.02

2010-11-02 Thread Michael Gulbranson
Hi All:

I have an issue with my computer locking up when running DX4win. My OS is
W98SE. The DX4WIN version is 7.02.

I need DOS for TR which means upgrading is out of the question..

The computer locks up which requires me to shutdown and reboot. There is no
rhyme or reason when the lockup will occur. I run WL and do not experience
this freeze.

I have rig control set up. However, it does not seem to matter if I have a
rig turned on or not. Nor does matter if I have DX4WIN set up for Add
real time operation. Likewise MMTTY running or not does not seem to cause
the freeze.

Doing CTL-ALT-DeL shows me I have 6 programs running.

This is the only software program I am aware of that causes my computer to
lockup. Any ideas? I am not against upgrading to the newer 8.02 if I can
get some increased level of confidence the problem will go away.

Thanks in advance
