Re: [Dx4win] JTAlert and DX4WIN

2018-06-02 Thread Ed Stratton
David, I run WSJT first to get rig control, then run DX4, without rig
control, , click through the com port exception popups and then just
connect with internet spots.
I too just do a import from WSJT into DX4 periodically..

Re: [Dx4win] JTAlert and DX4WIN

2018-06-02 Thread Dan Violette
I do #2 and create a personal log that I overwrite with new LoTW info for
JT-Alert, Import (ignore duplicates) like the other file. I actually then
have the WSJT-X log file as a backup and my JTAlert as my real one.
Remember you do not need to go before July 1, 2017 for uploads since FT8 did
not exist (go back another month if you were testing early).

I have two questions:

1. Does DX4WIN developer, KK4HD, have any plans to provide support for this?

2. Are any DX4WIN users currently using JTAlert by exporting a copy of the
DX4WIN log into a format supported by JTAlert, and importing it back into
DX4WIN. If so, please describe your procedure and experiences.

Re: [Dx4win] JTAlert and DX4WIN

2018-06-02 Thread David Kozinn, K2DBK
Paul will have to answer #1.

For #2, what I do is to periodically do an import from wsjtx_log.adi into
D4W. I don't ever clear that log and have the import set to ignore duplicate
QSOs. I use D4W for my "log of record" so I don't care about exporting
confirmed QSOs to WSJT-X. It's not automated but I doubt the import process
takes more than 30 seconds.

My current workflow looks like this (with thanks to Jim, AD1C for his
suggestion about using Clublog):

1) Work some stations in WSJT-X
2) Shut down WSJT-X, start DX4WIN (I don't run them at the same time because
I'd have to deal with com port conflicts
3) Import the wsjt_log.adi file into D4W.
4) Run a LOTW export
5) Import that file into Clublog
6) Sync with LOTW

It probably took me almost as long to type it as to actually do it.

There have been some tricks posted as to how to quickly get to the
wsjt_log.adi file when importing it, you can find them in the list archives.
Personally, I've marked that file as a favorite, so whenever I open a file
dialog box I just click on "Quick Access" and the file is right there.
