I've had some problems with using my new WINKEY2 (USB) with DX4WIN.
 (works ok with the WINKEYER2)

Would like to hear from someone who has been successful in using this.
(and
 if
it's possible to key alternate rigs using it within DX4WIN)

[Dx4win] winkey2 support

2007-01-23 Thread ON4AOI
Mark,
Probably something is setup wrong in your PREFERENCES of DX4WIN
Setup here is WINKEY (serial) connected via USB to SERIAL device
Comport is 7

Check if the USB (comport) from Winkey2 is recognized in your
Windozs settings.

[Dx4win] winkey2 support

2007-01-22 Thread Pete Smith
I'm having the same problem. Just switched to 7.02.15, which I upgraded to
from 6.03, largely because of Winkey support. It appears, however, that DX4WIN
can't address the virtual serial ports created by the USB driver. I have set
up COM7 for Winkey, but get no indication that they are communicating with each
other. When I monitor the port, there is no indication of any data flow from
DX4WIN to the Winkey.

Can anyone confirm if this is a known limitation of the current release of
DX4WIN? The virtual serial ports seem to work fine for rig control (using a
MK2R+, which has an embedded Winkey 2).

[Dx4win] winkey2 support

I don't ever use my Winkey2 with DX4WIN but just checked it and it seems to
work OK. I'm running DX4WIN 7.02.15. My virtual com port is set up as Com8.

I am using a microHam microKEYER and the Winkey device keys perfectly
in DX4WIN. It also works in Writelog.

In the DX4WIN CW Preferences, I set Device type to Winkey and Port to
COM7. All other boxes are None or 0. Make sure that the virtual COM
port is for Winkey only, and is not used by any other device in DX4WIN.
