Its time to just admit it and play taps for DXbase.
Its been dead for about 5 years, and the smell is not attracting any
new users.
I had to move on, I did not want to, but was "forced" to, I work the
new bands
136khz and 475khz and with DXB not able to log those qsos, thus they
cannot
Amen, Joe has helped me many times, to convert old DOS logs into DXbase,
fixing problems, dumb thumbs on my part etc. Even called me on the
phone on
his dime, many thanks to Joe.
New version, if any one is hanging around for that one you better
figure on
using it from your eternal
Released 3-31 so must be March fools
Its a shame it was released during April fools day however!

Double dittos on about all that has been said, I like the screen layout of
DX base or would have been gone long ago, I had a note written earlier
but deleted it and I see most have the same thoughts so no use venting
here. People get in over their heads all the time, so this is nothing
new,
Neil, any chance there is a way to add a new band to DXbase
or you add it and I get a file or ??
I operate 630 meters under an experimental license and would
like to log some of those contacts, I need 630M or 475KHZ
added as a band when logging.
Actually need 135KHZ added as well as that is
Mine works fine on any band 60 included, I have the box checked
to take band and mode info from the transceiver, so whatever the
radio is set at is what is logged.

There had been some discussion about the wrong mode being logged with DXBase
on 60M. I tried a fix in the
Agree, many errors, only DXbase errors I get are when I am do dumb
to update it or keep it current.
73 Merv K9FD/KH6
I personally have found hundreds of errors in their database,
especially the ones going back to the 50's through the 80's.
Yes, there are exceptions...
What a PITA..
I'm
I just ran a day of W1AW/KH6 and another coming Monday,
all I did is create a new DB from the file tab / new database,
and its ready to go, does not need the title W1AW/7.db..
when your done just create the ADIF file and make that name
W1AW/7 and mail it to the coordinator. I did that and
If you are trying to use the /7 it may be the reason also, I just
tried and created one just using W1AW..
73 Merv K9FD/KH6
If I try to create a new database ... W1AW/7 ... the program
barfs. How are folks who participate in the ARRL Centennial
handling this ?
Tnx, Dick, W1KSZ
Yes I see 12 days, and there is still a problem as LOTW upload lost
2 of my uploads after the so called fix.
Going to upload again until they show in the backlog.
I think they are running DOS and a 8088 IBM desktop to do the job,
at the speed things are moving, hope they bought something newer
Don, I dont use DXB to control the radio, but I use it to read the radios
freq and mode etc. So DXB already does all those things without any
input from the operator.
Merv K9FD/KH6
I don't use rig control via DxBase. That said, does not DXBase read the
frequency and mode from the radio?
There is no doubt that club log has errors, and they are being worked on.
But my DXbase has no known errors, if you keep your datbase up to date and
watch what you log, there is not a problem. The only errors I get are
operator errors, mainly where I start to log one station and change the
I dont usually jump into the pile with my opinion, but going to
have to side with Rick and Ron, the current type screen
system for DXbase is one of the reasons I use it, I have
many other logging programs and while several do as well
as DXbase none have the screen features that I prefer,
so if
Yes happens on every email that I have sent to the list for about the
past couple weeks.

Is anyone else seeing this and has this been going on long?

And be sure and make a backup of your database first, a wrong push of the
button and you can end up with no log but the LOTW log, have dumb

Yes it is.
On your desktop click the START button then All Programs and in the list
Find the DXbase 2007
My vote goes with ILYA, if you have any load at all on the computer the
keying from DXB is erratic, if your sending 10 or 15 wpm perhaps its ok
but normal speeds of 30 plus are very erratic.
I run several other programs at the same time, DXMON, LP Bridge to
use the K3, softrock panadapter,
Dont want to start an arguement, but Joe has helped me also in so many
ways, recently he relaimed a log I thought was lost forever that was
done in DOS DXB. It was from an expedition my friend W0RI and
I did to put China on 160 meters back in 1998. I had to use DOS due
to the only computer

That is my understanding and how it was from the start, I dont have
that problem
being KH7 so for me it works fine. As long as the cards are from DX to USA
they are accepted. Its just from USA to USA that is not accepted.
There was some comments about the cost of the service, let me explain
How about just un-checking the box that says valid for what you want,
it will set whether the QSO counts or not for DXCC, that way its
left in the log but not counted for anything.
valid is in the logging columns towards the left side a ways, depending
on how large your monitor is.
Merv KH7C
I updated from DXB 2003 to 2007 several days ago and all has
been working well until today.
The summary box is all confused. It shows totally different info
than what the DXCC output data shows.
For instance if I log a 5N station it shows that country worked
and confirmed on every band, but if

Naw could not be something that simple. Of course I must have looked at
