Dear all,
I am a marine biologist and as such do not know much about maintaining a fresh
water pond. Our pond is approximately 3/4 to 1 acre and has recently been
covered by duck weed. I have not been able to locate any natural ways to
remove it other than skimming. I am only concerned

I am considering teaching science as a career option. I want children (and
adults) to be as excited about science as I am so this discussion interests me
greatly. I agree with Ms. Dejaco's approach of covering the important basics,
filling in with some detail, and illustrating relevance.

I'm piping up here as a 40-something heading into grad school. Maybe it's a
bit of a digression but one of the disturbing things I have noticed as a
non-traditional student is that my younger fellow students were often afraid
to speak up when something was amiss or to be honest about their
personally...
